Early Morning recap:

Curling: Lost to Canada 6-4

Ski Jumping: All 4 Qualified(Top 50 of 57), Bickner highest at 25th.

To answer some of your questions posed,

Our ski jumping team is not going to medal. A top 20 would be fantastic.

The Swiss are the only 2-0 team, while the Finns are the only 0-2 team in curling. Should be a good fight

Nathan Chen will be in the Men's Short Program for the Team Event

Moguls: Schild, Kauf, and McCargo have all had podiums in either of the last two World Cup seasons. The women's will be a good fight.

Bradley Wilson will have a decent chance of medaling, but you can just hand the gold to Mikael Kingsbury of Canada now. He deserves it, to be honest.

Qualifying for Moguls is Top 16.*

Also, this is a neat thing that I found:

https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/game-time/results/OWG2018/en/general/noc-schedule-united-states.htm

It's not updated for every event yet, but I imagine it will be accurate within a day.

* Edit: This is wrong. It's 30 in Q1, top 10 qual for F1. 20 in Q2, top 10 qual for F1. 20 in F1, top 12 to F2, top 6 in F2 to F3. F3 is the Super Final.

So 3 of our Ski Jumpers are from the Chicago area, very close to where I grew up. In other words, we picked 3 guys from the 2nd flattest state for ski jumping.

Thoughts

I was not able to watch the game live as it was 3am my time but I can see Team USA held the match close until the 5th round. 4-6 is not a bad score especially against the team expected to win gold!

Thoughts

The game was very close until the 8th round, there were 3 mistakes that I think lost us the game. Very fun game to watch though!

Three of the four women were able to qualify for the finals, Tess needs to do better than she did today if she wants a spot in the finals alongside her teammates. Great 3rd place by Morgan today aswell!

Curling:

We are certainly behind the eight-ball due to the Korea loss; however, with OAR and SUI still having matches today against CAN as well as a match against each other tomorrow, if we win our last three matches against NOR, CHN, and FIN, there’s a very good chance we could sneak into the semis.

Biathlon:

Susan Dunklee has an outside shot at a medal

Cross-Country:

Our women’s cross country team is actually fairly strong this year, particularly Jessie Diggins. I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t come away with at least one medal, so she’s a medal threat in every cross-country event

Short-track:

JR Celski has a shot at a medal, though anything can happen in short track.

Long-track:

Schoutens is a medal favorite

it could be a fun day for the USA with medal chances in 4/5 events plus a lot of intrigue in the curling tournament!

    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/

    • I am very curious.  We got extremely lucky in the first ticket drop, both my and my wife's emails were selected for relatively early time slots-- early enough that we bought our full allotment of tickets for good stuff.  Not swimming or gymnastics of course, but we were really pleased,  d   But today I received an email on one of those accounts saying that we were entered into the second drop because we hadn't used up our 12 ticket allotment.  I went back and counted-- twice-- and yes, we certainly did purchase 12 tickets on that account.      I am not sure I want any more!  Did this happen to anybody else?
    • Congrats to your talented team. Don't know what happened with the Dutch men. In qualies and race for bronze they were a lot faster than Italy, but in the second round our third man (Tijmen van Loon) was almost 1,5 second slower than in the two other rounds.    We really need Jeffrey Hoogland back in our team. That's the only way to give competition to the British team.    However, today was a special day. For the first time since very long we entered the Women Team Pursuit and eventually won the bronze medal. Well, a lot of countries didn't participate, but with a national record of 4.12 still a very promising result. There are rumors that Milano Cortina 1.500 meter speedskating Olympic champion Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong will enter the team.
    • Ju Jitsu    One of the worst martial arts really. Surely the middle east lobby.   The -52kg W final  deserved to win gold and did all attacks still lost to  who was trailing even on advantages and did nothing.      Total mockery of the sport. C'mon I'll happily watch Wushu here instead. Really wished to watch woodball
    • I couldn't find any intro on asian games hub for these games
    • Just realised there is Teqball here     Explains why there is no Sepaktakraw    I think the Teqball federation may have pledged to contribute to the hosting costs for the sport making it an easy choice for organizers and anyhow retired / 3rd string Sepaktakraw players only play it so believe that was the reason.     Anyway hate that artificial sport
