Track Cycling UCI World Cup 2026

Recommended Posts

Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so :USA will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).

I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us :(

Congrats to your talented team. Don't know what happened with the Dutch men. In qualies and race for bronze they were a lot faster than Italy, but in the second round our third man (Tijmen van Loon) was almost 1,5 second slower than in the two other rounds.

We really need Jeffrey Hoogland back in our team. That's the only way to give competition to the British team.

However, today was a special day. For the first time since very long we entered the Women Team Pursuit and eventually won the bronze medal. Well, a lot of countries didn't participate, but with a national record of 4.12 still a very promising result. There are rumors that Milano Cortina 1.500 meter speedskating Olympic champion Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong will enter the team.

One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.

Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.

she's 35 and already said she wants to enlarge her family

so, she's already doing another sport, but it's not cycling! :p

With the strength of the Netherlands and their good strategy you can be confident about the good future, which can`t be said about Italy, where everything is and has always been a great unknown and improvisation:lol:

It was rather a little joke on my part - she never competed on a bike, like Sablikova, but rather combined skating with roller skating. I very like her character- she is very similar to Longo Borghini and unfortunately not every our women`s cyclist has something like that.
