Hey guys, just came by to let you know it was tough to see the Hockey final and I guess you are quite disappointed by Canada's overall performances in these Olympics. But huge congrats to @Topicmaster1010 and all :CAN users to make this club so active during the Games, it was by far the most active club of the Olympics.

Keep up the amazing job and now that the Olympics are over, let's focus on LA28!

And a :GRE user as well :)

Well… maybe NOW we will get the funding we need from the feds. This is the only positive I can take

It’s been a few days and I’m sure there may be changes from then, but yknow after the interview from a few days ago there’s not much optimism as it stands

I think it will depend on how bad public backlash / media shaming is. But you’re probably right, I’m not seeing a change anytime soon. If anything, it will require intense closed door lobbying by the COC/NSO’s/private investors to move the needle.

Maybe all of this could happen this year perhaps and we might finally see some progress. I dunno who in the COC really is satisfied with how we did this year.

Even if it does end up happening, it’s a shame that we had to have a really bad Olympics overall to finally get things going in terms of funding

I was at my neihgbour/colleague's place for the game. We started drinking at 7am, and just carried on. It dulled the pain.

Just want to shout out to everyone here on being such great companions to share the Olympics with. The outcome was disappointing, but fun to share it with all of you, nonetheless.

Back to work/real life tomorrow. It's always sad when a Games ends, but maybe not so much this time. I just hope the right people look at this and do something.
