But Raisport vs Rai Uno/Rai Due, it`s a different things. On Raisport are broadcasts many niche sports that don't make it onto terrestrial TV (although of course now, in the age of the Internet, terrestrial television is no longer as important as it was 20-30 years ago).

I'm pretty sure you don't know what you're talking about. RaiSport is the fourth (sometimes third...) most watched channel on RAI, and it's on television.

So, why was our match against Spain doesn`t count, while the one against the Czech Republic does? Given that it's the same stage of the tournament?

because Spain won't play the medal round, while the Czechs will

I'm surprised that this sport is so popular there that it's broadcast on public television (even assuming they're hosting the European Championships). It's a big think in Italy when they show the women's volleyball World Championship final on Rai Uno or the women's Eurobasket medal matches on Rai Due. In Italy public tv may have showed softball during the Olympics, but probably in a short fragment a few minutes, am I right?

Czechia has really developed a good environment for baseball and softball in the last few years, they got some media attention and playing the last World Baseball Classic brought a true baseball-mania in the Country

they have a very good youth system, with a lot of kids playing and some of their best players starting to go to the USA to improve and make the NT stronger and stronger

on the other hand, Italy has a great tradition and used to have a lot of people going to stadium and some decent media coverage (also late night or afternoon slots on rai3, even some live coverage on raisport when the channel was opened) in the past, interest that's slowing down moe and more with time

it remains only the small but very passionate group of fans that regularly follow the MLB -and some other international leagues and tournaments- and sky Italia with its little coverage of MLB/WBC and the world/european tournaments played in Italy in the recent years -baseball Europeans 4 years ago and softball euro and world champs in the past 2 years

technically, :ITA and :NED always benefit from the Caribbean colonies (:NED) and all the foreign born Italians (central and south america rather than north america), but, like for Hockey, it's more and more difficult to recruit someone to play for us because we are no longer economically competitive

that's why those 2 Countries always dominated the game in Europe, but now Germany, Czechia and Spain are developing their national leagues and starting growing the base of guys practicing the sport seriously (and GBR also has a decenty base of girls playing softball in the US colleges, so they also became more competitive recently, especially since they found a great pitcher, which is the most important thing in baseball and even more in softball), which means that it will be more and more difficult to extend this domination and actually this is good for the sport

2-0 for Italy but I see only on live-ticker.

I posted the link earlier...you don't even need a vpn to watch

correction, at that link you need a vpn

meanwhile using the iVysilani app on android tv, the vpn is not necessary (actually, you have to avoid it to make it work)

Ok, so why is it so important that they show the World Championship final on Sunday on Rai Uno? Many people tweeted that this is important for women's volleyball in Italy.

RaiUno is obviously the main showcase, but only football and, occasionally, women's volleyball are shown there. Not even the Olympics are shown on RaiUno...

Men`s final in volleyball World Champ 2022 wasn`t in Rai Uno? Or Rai Due? I don`t remember.

because you can't have 4.2 million people watching raisport+ like on rai1 with the rigged system we have in place

and volleyball in the no.2 sport in Italy and has earned itself the privilege to be shown on the main National TV channel

other sports, have to be satisfied with minor TV channels because they don't move the same amount of people nor sponsorships

it's as simple as that...I don't think we need a scientist to understand why some choices are taken that way

rai1 (and didn't record the same ratings as the girls, despite being in prime time)

Unfortunately, Luchetta and this second man are weak and are clowning too much in vision... Secondly, that success was unexpected and with the girls all of experts, journalists etc. has saying for several months that they had a sure gold medal.
