Olympic Qualification Tracker

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I might not be so active in your discussion here on this forum, but most of my time here goes into updating the Qualification Tracker for the Olympics.

So with Milano Cortina edition underway, we're already looking towards LA 2028, and I want to ask you about you overall experience you are having with the Tracker. How often are you using it, do you have any suggestions about its improvements, what could be added or done differently. Open for any ideas and constructive criticism, so feel free to express yourself here, or you can even DM me, if it makes it easier for you :)

Every help will be much appreciated

An interesting point has been made by @hondrakis in a different thread here

The LA28 Qualification Tracker is still open to changes and suggestions so we can include this in the discussion.

This is an interesting point by @hondrakis. So if I understand it correctly, in shooting for example, NOC could earn max 30 quotas (2 quotas per event), instead of 15 athletes? Even if an athlete competes in more than 1 event, they are counted double? So France would have 21 shooting quotas in Paris 2024?

Yes, that's exactly the idea. And if two athletes compete in both an individual and a team event together, the total will equal three quotas.

(I just noticed a small error on the French shooting entry list: there are two people qualified in 10-air rifles for a single quota indicated in the table, hence a discrepancy in the total number of shooting quotas (22 in my sheet, 21 in the tracker)).

OK, now I understand. So also in archery, if NOC qualifies a team and 3 individuals, they have 4 quotas. So basically you suggest that we write how many entries each NOC has across all events?

Thanks for pointing out this mistake. I'm sure there are quite a few of them, so let me know if you find them :yes

Well I can surely say I’ve used the tracker A LOT and it’s one of my favourites things here, would be nice if we could combine between a country’s club to the tracker, so that people could see and use the information relevant to their country, that’s what I currently have in mind,

I’ll use this moment to thank you @Matej and @Sindo and of course others who make this site so much interactive and informative and overall better with those kind of things

Nice to hear you like it :yes About the connection with country clubs, I think this is something @Sindo might help with, since I'm not too familiar with that...

I enjoy looking at the Qualification Calendar for LA.  Is there not one for Milano Cortina as well?  It doesn't look like it, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing it.  (This is also not necessarily a request for one, as I'm sure it takes a lot of work to create.)

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
