With the end of group stage we lost 12 teams out of 20, with the top 2 in each of the 4 groups making it to the next round (super 8s)

:ZIM  has been the story of the group stages winning against both :AUS & :SRI in group stages.

Among the associate members, :ITA made a memorable debut in the world cup. Winning a match & being competitive against much higher rank opponents. :NED were also very competitive & narrowly lost against :PAK

In the Super 8's stage team are divided in 2 groups with top 2 from each group making it to SF.

Group 1 : :IND :RSA :ZIM & West Indies

Group 2: :NZL :ENG :SRI :PAK

:IND won the last, decisive match against :WIS in the Super-8 phase and qualified to the semifinals, especially thanks to a great performance by Samson Sanju with the bat (97 not out from 50 balls)

once again, the bowlers let the Windies' hopes down when it really mattered (and despite a decent start with 2 important wickets in the early overs)

Semifinals

Wednesday, March 4th: :NZL vs :RSA in Kolkata (7 p.m. local, 2.30 p.m. CET)

Thursday, March 5th: :IND vs :ENG in Mumbai (7 p.m. local, 2.30 p.m. CET)

SF #1 : :NZL thrashed :RSA in a dominating performance. They will play the Final against the winner of :IND / :ENG

:RSA really disappointing in both innings, batting and bowling

:NZL Allen 100 not out from only 33 balls 😱

Today was my first time watching a Cricket game.... and I'm all in. I loved it.

Damn New Zealand did a good job. They dominated :RSA with ease

    • Well, yeah. So basically there's not really going to be something called 'the final'. Fantastic.
    • At least two of those three only have one single athlete, so won't be very visible
    • As we repeat every two years, roughly: no, this is not going to have 'major consequences'.
    • What a beautiful movement, meanwhile three other countries out there can participate without any problem.    But the IPC is only considered a criminal organization if it's a European country.
