Summer Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 Qualification Calendar Road to LA 2028

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

The LA2028 Olympic qualification calendar pages have been set up: https://totallympics.com/qualification-tracker/los-angeles-2028/qualification-calendar/

Even though official qualification documents have been not been released yet, I have already added events which most probably will be LA28 qualification events based on previous experience, such as 2027 FIBA World Cup, Handball 2027 World Championships, UEFA U21 2027 European Championship etc., with all the respective pre-qualifying rounds. And of course the current CONMEBOL Copa Feminina :p

If you see any missing events or you think there events which 99.9% will be Olympic qualification events, please feel free to report them here and I will add them to the calendar.

Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

It has been announced the 2026 Volleyball Continental Championships will award quotas for LA28. So the current qualifying rounds for the 2026 CEV European Championships can be considered as Olympic Qualification Events. I have added them in the calendar.

Hi Sindo... In the qualification system of 2025 there isn't the under 21 European soccer qualofication

What do you mean? Do you mean in our calendar? I have added the 2027 U21 European Championship, even if it's not officially confirmed that it will be a qualification event. Or maybe you meant something else?

Yes but they are in the 2027? Because the matches are also now 😅

The qualification matches are added in the 2025 Qualification Calendar (see the different tabs for each month, in the first tab only the direct Olympic qualification events are listed), and also in our main sports calendar.

Where exactly do you mean they are missing?

Where are the different tabs? I see only woman football.

Thanks for reporting this! The tabs were already there, but there was an issue which was hiding them from mobile devices. It should be fixed now, can you please check again and let me know if it works? Thanks!

    • need to work on the celebrations... or just drop them?   Btw, these jerseys suck and I remember Zambia playing in all white with red numbers. At least they have orange on national flag but still...
    • British Columbia in general and Vancouver in particular are awesome and it’s great more people got to discover it thanks to Vancouver 2010.
    • And of course the British being famous for curmudgeons, there were always plenty of curmudgeons to quote.  Then of course from the opening ceremony and the cycle race on the very first morning it was obviously going to be triumph, so everyone just shut up for a while.
    • Yep, the amount of emergency services I heard at some point was a little extreme (for our little town), so I checked what was going on and saw they were all being called to a specific location. Until then I thought maybe it was part of a parade of trucks and agricultural vehicles that was on it's way from the next town over, decorated with lights and stuff.   Since I knew it was on the parade route, I was sure one of those big vehicles had hit people somehow (there were, besides the many vehicles, also two helicopters on the way, meaning it certainly wasn't about a single victim).   We picked our bikes and went to take a look, absolutely chaos in the area. Never saw so many services combined together, fire trucks from 20km away, ambulance after ambulance came racing by, people frantically trying to make way for them (the roads weren't really closed yet).   While there we heard someone who had been close say that the parade hadn't arrived yet and what seemed to have happened was that a car from the other side came onto the roundabout and simply never turned. "It's a massive drama over there, unbelievable", he said.   Quite quickly rumours started spreading of course, the first one turned out to be true: a middle aged (local) woman was behind the wheel and seems to have become unwell. Local security camera showed the car going at high speed right before the roundabout.   Plenty of rumours going around in terms of who were involved of course, and people keeping each other up to date to see if they know this or that family and such...   Never expected my little town to be big news in the Netherlands, even including some breaking broadcasts, live reporters and everything, damn. By far the biggest thing to happen here in my memory

    • For me, these were very good Olympics, and British sport benefited greatly from them, and is still benefiting. I fear it will be much worse here. Canada also benefited very good on Vancouver 2010 – this is very good see in the medal standings of subsequent Winter Games after 2010 and earlier.
    • Nobody hates Britain more than the British media so… I recall it being quite a pessimistic tone before the London games started.
    • I'm curious what was written before London 2012? Did they attack their own country, or did they just keep quiet?

    • Very true point.  Although I think at this point everyone is just holding their collective breath until the test event.  The NHL isn't going to rage anymore until then because it's not like that would make the arena progress go any quicker
