It's simply that we won't win gold for the first time in 40 years, and that's sad. This is despite the fact that we'll probably have around 20 medals. Even one gold medal in this situation would be statistically weak, but it wouldn't be the worst result since 1986.

20 medals, damn. If that works out, big congratulations, that's a massive haul for the team.

We don't have a dominant force like Pellegrini once did. And Ceccon hasn't made any progress since 2022, which is why he often loses. He wins medals, but rarely gold. It's good that he won gold at the Olympics.

We certainly deserved this gold more than South Africa, but that's life :( The Germans, on the other hand, are doing just fine here and they're incredibly lucky.

Coetze has been one of the top young backstrokers in the world for a few years now. He literally went 51.99 at world University games last week, flew halfway around the world, and posted an even faster time here against an incredibly stacked field. He 100% deserved this win.

And if you've been keeping track this year, you would know that both Maertens has been the top 400m freestyle this year and Elendt has been one of the top breaststrokers this year. Nothing to do with luck.

They won two gold medals by less than 0.1 seconds. For me, that's pure luck. They have 6 medals and all 6 gold medals. Everything works out for them here. Plus, they have the open water dominator Wellbroeck, who won nothing at the Paris Olympics and is now unbeatable.

It's easy for you to write because you have McInthos, who's guaranteed to win two or three gold medals. Having someone like that helps you stay calm and in a good mood:)

The Netherlands?

Yes. Canada has McIntosh to feel calm, you said. Dutch fans are also not panicking, so who do we have? I only count a bronze so far.

Okay, but when was the last time you didn't have gold? This 1986 hurts me the most.

Don't fixate on gold so much. If a country wins a shit ton of medals, even without gold, their swimming is going absolutely fine.
