Portugal deserved the draw but Italy stop to play after Girelli goal, is a suicide back to defence for 15-20 min.

Fail the quarter final would be a disappointment.

I don't see any progress from this Italian team. It's been the same for years at major events, apart from the 2019 World Cup. Single matches in the Nations League and wins against Spain and Holland won't change that. A classy team should dominate Portugal and win confidently but we defended dramatically after scoring a first goal.

Then again I kinda expected more from Portugal as well. They almost eliminated USA in group stage of the last World Cup (hit the post in 90th minute) yet they got completely overrun by Spain (which are probably even stronger than when they won WC) and struggled for many periods vs Italy as well.

Portugal has recently been relegated from the Nations League - they were weaker than Belgium: 0-3 at home. I thought that if we won against Belgium, it would be easier against Portugal. Unfortunately we don't have enough talent in our team - apart from maybe one Girelli. It's a similar problem as in our men's team, that we simply don't have new and great talents and our teams are average. The women's team is at least fighting and trying, which is rare among the men team on the last time.

Germany recover from a goal down to beat Denmark 2-1.

Now it's time for Sweden vs Poland and once again our target is look competitive and maybe score a goal with some luck :p

Well deserved German win, but man that was a bad job by the ref.

Missing two clear head injuries, where especially Snerle was very clear and rather shortly before the 2-1 goal.

Sweden beat Poland 3-0 and by all accounts we played much worse than in the Germany game. Well, these results aren't a surprise, together with Wales we're the biggest outsiders who even qualified for these finals.

It makes you wonder just how bad Wales is given how they got spanked by this Dutch team the other day.

And yeah, I mean Sherida Spitse is your half-time rescue pick? What year is it?

Psychology has a big effect on sport nowadays. Poland manages to keep somewhat head over the water with Germany and sinks while meeting Sweden.

Netherlands lost big to good teams this year, for example against Germany. Some people might have seen this coming.

Oh, and the earth spinning quicker is taking us BC instead of further in time? :d

@ThagardSweden's wingers - especially Angeldahl - made a mockery of our fullbacks. Wiankowska lasted 70 minutes but was overrun like a schoolgirl all game. It's tricky because our female experts said before the match Angeldahl is the best Swedish player right now but usually in women's game "sentiment & reputation" prevails so the focus was on Asslani & Blackstenius.

Then our best CB Dudek couldn't play due to injury while Woś and 19yo Szymczak were a bag of nerves instead. Technically Dudek & Woś were supposed to be the starting CBs in both matches and Szymczak was late in coverage on most goals we conceded. All three Sweden goals were close range headers, duh.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
