Julia Sauter :ROU represents Romania at the World Championships. After finishing 7th at the European Championships, unfortunately the Romanian authorities did not help her with plane tickets or money to prepare for this competition. Just like 3 years ago when Julia had to participate in the World Championships in Japan, she had to receive money from people through "gofundme". I hope the story ends well with Julia in the top 24 because apart from the training that any athlete does, she also had to fight with the deficient state system in Romania...

All 24 Olympic spots for the women at worlds are getting allocated today.

Edit: they actually aren't all getting allocated today, but most are xD

arrhhh... :LTU finishing 25th in women's singles.... Again, just failing to qualify for the final and for Olympics

:LTU is actually not in a terrible spot to qualify, :SUI will have a bit of a hard time securing it's second spot.

I think you have to advance to the free skate to have a chance at a quota. An extra men's quota was allocated at the final qualifier 4 years ago because China didn't meet the requirements to send two skaters to the Olympics despite both of them qualifying for the free skate.

Ah! Not seeing a reference to that in the qualifying document, but the ISU does have a knack to write hard to read qualification documents so I might be missing something.
