If you're talking about the next edition of the WBC, then there's still a chance. It'll likely come down to their matchup with Israel. I think they've purposefully saved their best pitcher for that matchup.

Australia almost beat Japan  .

 

4-3 was the final score. The Korea vs Australia matchup will determine which of Taiwan, South Korea and Australia advances to the next round and based on this game, it very well might be Australia.

 

Meanwhile, Japan clinches 1st place in Pool C but hasn't been too convincing the last couple of games.

Is there any scoreline which allows Taiwan to advance? I'm not 100% confident in understanding the tiebreakers
