Yep. The best thing is athletes coming together no matter their politics. Remember the Korean unity flag?

That's why I hate what Lebanon did so much

As now we come across the world

Mind you, Times of Israel is kinda biased. I hate Israeli politics, but it's not the athletes' fault

Sad to Know about it .. Main motive of Olympics is getting missed.. We need unity in this world ..

I equally felt happy when Kosova and South Sudan athletes waked in the Stadium similar to when India walked.

LOL watching on nbc, and not sure if it was on world feed, but after the americans entered they just showed them while bunch of countries entered

Just NBC. I did get a laugh when the feed spent only like 3 seconds on Argentina and then when around the stadium before resuming the parade. That's how you do a rivalry.

Show was not of that glamour quotient and not enjoyable...But made me go through the history of Brazil and got to know about it...I think that itself has achieved the purpose of the organizers. Expected better Samba section, But dint get much. Caudron lighting build up was not there. But the design was awesome...It came n got over so fast.

The ceremony is certainly not as big as London or even Beijing, but still a festival :d

The Parade of Nations was somehow in slower pace, maybe because of the music. Love the cauldron, just hoping it is a bit bigger

The only problem was the censorship in Indonesian TV (Giselle Bundchen got blocked by with a white square and the ceremony is cut after the hoisting of the Olympic flag, fearing the butts of Samba dancers ) :dunno:

I watched 2/3 of ceremony and now waiitng reprise to continue

What i saw was really great and enjoyable.....it was not spectaculr and expensive as Beijing and London,  but it had soul and spread message......and i think it showed good direction in which ceremonies should go

I also like parade very much and whole idea about it

Only i don't know if it was on Serbian tv or everywhere, but sound was bad during the concert of Brazilian singers....but still could hear some :d

    • Netanyahu is bad but unfortunately Hamas helps him maintain power. Every attack they make is a reinforcement of Netanyahu's rhetoric about the country's security, etc. In the fall of 2023, Netanyahu was already losing support and then suddenly a big Hamas attack on a festival near the Gaza Strip. Coincidence? It wouldn`t surprise me at all if Netanyahu knew about the plan for this attack but did nothing so that he would then have the tools to maintain his power. I also remember Ariel Sharon - he was probably even more radical than Netanyahu but he had a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma.

Apart from he waś there as president of Ukraine and speaking in the Knesset? Nothing. In the power circles in Moscow there were/are many people of Jewish origin and what about that? A large part of the power apparatus of the USSR was based on Jews, especially in the years shortly after WWII.   Instead of constantly writing about Jews, would be better to tell me which country Algeria has better diplomatic relations with: Tunisia or Egypt?
