Speed Skating Discussion | Qualification to Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026 Road to Milano Cortina 2026

Since Verkerk is out, Leerdam will take her place, so will start in the 1000 metres.

Team pursuit is not a problem: Beune/Groenewoud/Rijpma- De Jong, with two potential reserves in Conijn and Kerkhoff. This is the line up that won the World Championship last year.

Men’s TP: just start with van de Bunt/Huizinga/Bergsma. Bringing in Boschker is not going to increase the relatively small change of winning a medal.

What's the prefered Women relay line-up? I have no clue how the Matrix works

Ah, so you're basically a Dutch speed skating fan, Dutch speed skating TV pundit, Dutch speed skater or Dutch federation member? :p

This would actually just be fun as well. Bergsma was always a problem in a team with the unmeasurable egos of Sven Kramer and those around him, but with Huizinga and especially a young lad like Van de Bunt, it really shouldn't be much of an issue.

Just hoping for the worst possible TP selection with the least time of collective training :p

I don’t think we have to be too too worried about the men. The :USA is a huge favourite in the men’s TP. The women are probably favourites tho.

Collective training? What's that?

Van de Bunt - Team IKO

Huizinga - Team Essent

Bergsma - Team Zaanlander

Bosker - Team Reggeborgh

Good luck with whatever combination it's going to be :p

I'm not really worried for the USA actually :d I know the Dutch men won't be favorite either way but they could at least play a role in there, which from my point of view is one too much. So let's just stay opponents and focus on individual events shall we ;)
