If the second run is not finished it is ten points, equivalent to the top ranked finisher in the nations cup race who did not qualify for the world cup race.

Do you know how it worked at the Test event?

There were no nations cup races at the Test event.

And those points are not included into the world cup standings. So we do not know for sure what the standings is now

I think the points from the test event should be simple to figure out since WC points from 15th on (continuing through the nations cup races) just count down by 1. Why would it be any different? The only thing that would be uncertain is whether Li and Fischnaller get 1 or 0.

  • 3 weeks later...

@hckošice Do you know what had happen to Vavercak/Zmij in men`s doubles?

They were in the best position for the second quota and I do not see them at the startlist of the Nations cup for Friday.

Nothing official, but I guess injury, since they did not start already in Sigulda, which was already suspicious since for our lugers it is basically the "home" best track.

But, I repeat there no official info anywhere to find, I tried to find it myself for the whole week already

First of all, is it surprising that Slovakia doesn't have a some girl in the single women? They're not even sending anyone to the World Cup this season, and there's a 99% chance they won't be able to field a team at the Olympics because of it.

I don`t know that Norbert Huber is a coach of China Team:yikes: So, I think that their women's duo will start in Cortina for 99%;)

So Canada gave up on sending men, and a relay team to the Olympics I guess. No men entered in Sigulda or Winterberg so they are done and out of qualifying position.

Theo Downey is injured. The other athlete is focused on doubles. There is no one else.

Are a women's doubles a sure thing? Maybe Canada and China could get a wild card for a men's single to bring the relay team to 10? If they want to promote luge globally on the World, they should do so.

    • This could be the last ever Paralympics. Come 2028 it might well not be held because the IPC has split in two. That’s one legacy for Andrew Parsons.    He could simply ignore CAS or even withdraw the IPC from them. Unless he is worried about falling from his hotel room window or is being blackmailed.
    • The Netherlands has decided to cancel its hosting of the 2026 European Paralympic Swimming Championships due to the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes under their own flags, ad.nl reported on February 25. The Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) made this decision after consultations with government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, which confirmed the withdrawal.
