Black attempted a runback for two but misses and gives up a steal

7-2 Homan, really closing in on an Olympic spot.

Homan applying relentless pressure forces Black to get a good piece of the four foot with the draw against five to get the single. Slides too far, steal of two.

9-2 Homan, game pretty much over.

Sure is looking like we'll get handshakes after eight.

Well, Canada's best team is going to the Olympics, hard to complain about that outcome.

Yeah, still unfortunate for Black.

I’m excited to see what they can do at the Scotties, wide open with Homan out, Einarson is the slight favourite but Black, Lawes, Skrlik, Sturmay could all win.

And it’s all over :hyper:

Team Homan will represent :CAN at the Milano-Cortina Olympics! :cheer:

12-3 final over Black in the best of three final.

Happy for the entire team, but I couldn’t be happier for Fleury.

Still remember how last Olympic Trials went down, Fleury was 8-0 heading into the final, it was heartbreaking to see her lose it in an extra end to Jones. Usually it’s a once in a lifetime experience, so when you lose it there’s always that “what if” in your head, now she can put all of that behind.

She deserves this

Ya Fleury is the big feel good factor in that team.

Men’s final now underway, Jacobs with a 1-0 lead in a best of 3 over Dunstone and is looking for a ticket to the Olympics.

    • I can finally piggyback off @vinipereira predictions to deliver my own    I'll be honest. I was rather busy during most of the awards season, so I wasn't able to see as much as I wanted to, or normally would have been able to. Therefore, I'm relying heavily on pundit predictions and general feel this time around.     If there was a category for best poster artwork, my nominees would be: Bugonia, Eddington, Dracula, The Sound of Falling, Sirāt   I'd give best animal acting to Pipa from Sirāt   And my favorite scenes from the year are... Kids getting bewitched, Weapons Gladys getting her just desserts, Weapons Car chase, One Battle After Another I Lied To You, Sinners Turn that shit up, Sirāt Playing with arrows, The Love That Remains Street dance, The Life of Chuck Cold open, Warfare Final scene, The Plague Ship prayer, The Testament of Ann Lee
    • The article literally corrects other ones claiming it will be a case. Trump isn't and won't banned.

    • Yeah same story. Good for Venezuela.
    • Btw I highly recommend the short film 'Butterfly' which has a story related to the Olympics.
    • Once again here I am with my annual Oscar predictions post. Last year I predicted 13/23 winners which was my worst results ever by far. For the second consecutive year Brazil is nominated so I'm hoping that 'The Secret Agent' wins something, especially because it's a film from my home state. I watched 34 out of the 35 feature films (only 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' missing) and all 15 short films nominated, so I leave a personal ranking of all the categories.   ["will win" is my prediction / "could win", my alternate prediction / "should win", my personal ranking / "shoud have been nominated", a way to remember other notable work].
    • I don't know how soon that'll be though... and until then not holding my breath. Really wanted to see Caissie crushing balls at the Olympics, he deserved it for his play this tournament, and now he might not get the opportunity to. He's still young, but this will probably be Canada's best chance, and he'll only be around for Brisbane 2032 at best considering the bids in contention for 2036.    It just sucks, constant disappointment for the Canadians this year with barely anything to cheer for, and coming so close only to come up short... I'd rather us have just lost in the group stage
    • I think instead of allocating 2 spots here (for Americas) WBSC should have allowed 3 spots (rather than 2) in the 2027 WBSC premiere. ( 1 each for Asia, Europe & Americas)   That way it would have ensured two things : ONLY the top team from Americas gets the quota here ( deservedly so) additionally it would have allowed teams from Americas a second shot at qualification from the 2027 premieres.    Getting only 1 tournament , more than 2 years ahead of olympics is very harsh on the teams from Americas.
