the problem is that here nobody is interested in wrestling, there are no important politicians rather than media ready to ride the wave of a protest against UWW

and our relationship with IOC at the moment is not as good as it was in the past: all the troubles and contrasts around the organization of the 2026 Winter Games won't make a favor to our cause right now

We will do it anyway - Sidakov is a clear candidate to be scratched from the Olympics.

Giovanni Malago has good relations with Bach and is a member of the IOC. If he was personally involved, there is a chance that Chamizo would receive a wild card.

It's a fiasco for :FRA only 2 quotas and no freestyle quota.

Italy will 99% remain with 1 qualification, unless Ben Honis does something great and defeats the strong Chinese. In the last few editions, our standard was two qualifications, sometimes one. The important thing, however, is that there was always a medal: 2020: Conyedo, 2016: Chamizo. We will send the first woman to OG since 2004: then we had 2 girls.

yes :ITA  too you were below your hopes you could have had 4 quotas.. but we organize the Olympic games and I find that it is a failure and it has lasted since RIO 2016 concerning us

As the name suggests: a wild card, i.e. something discretionary, e.g. when someone lost their qualifications due to a scandal, like Chamizo, or, for example, in fencing, Olga Charlan from Ukraine received a wild card after dsq at the World Championships, which she did not use because Ukraine advanced with the entire team.

so Chamizo can get one? Or could it be credible that AIN is only represented by 1 Athlete?

I think the IOC must give him such a card. UWW is already done with it + kind of gave us back 1 card in Russo's case. Now all hope lies in Malago and his contacts with Bach. Then a wild card will be possible.

    • Oh well.  Plenty people say that once you get past the first flush of youthful energy it is actually better long term to have a couple of post Olympic slow years and then start building back gradually after 18 months.  That is how Chris Hoy ran his career.
