Well, a great way to finish the weekend.  We are used to going to Champs with quite a few medal prospects, and being a bit disappointed because only half of them work out.  Not here!  Pretty much everyone we thought could medal did medal.  Only Jeremiah Azu missed out, but fourth in one of the toughest indoor races ever was nothing to be ashamed of.

Plenty of positives to take away from the performances at an event that isn't always a priority for our top athletes.

 

But perhaps biggest positive is the fact that maybe, just maybe UK Athletics is getting its act together when it comes to approach to selection. I could be wrong, but I think they pretty much took everyone they could - I don't think anybody who was offered a spot through the rankings was rejected. Hopefully this carries through the rest of the events coming up.

Day 3 full results

Pentathlon - Barber 4th in the 60m Hurdles Heat 1 in 8.66 PB, worth 982 points. 10th in the High Jump with 1.69 SB, worth 842 points. 9th in the Shot Put with 13.56, worth 765 points. 9th in the Long Jump with 5.99 SB, worth 846 points. 3rd in the 800m, 2:10.86 PB, worth 952 points. Overall, 10th with 4387 PB

Long Jump - Palmer 10th with 6.49

Shot Put - Lincoln 4th, 21.13 SB

Relay - GB 2nd in Heat 2 in 3:29.31 SB and into the final. 5th in the final with 3:28.09 SB

60m Hurdles - Nwofor 4th in Heat 1 in 8.04 PB and out

Pole Vault - CAUDERY WINS! 4.85 SB

1500m - HUNTER BELL WINS! 3:58.53 WL

800m - HODGKINSON WINS! 1:55.30 CR
