Summer Olympic Games 2024 Broadcasters

There is a complete rugby sevens all day stream. They just have it broken down too. Best of both really

Tennis will be the same. Choose between courts and matches.

Oh if they have both options that would indeed be fantastic. I can imagine there's plenty of people who just want to watch a specific match, especially in sports like tennis or boxing, and then it's a horror show to try and find it amidst a 10 hour stream :p

.

I have some explanation - money is the reason as usually )

MAX offers downloads of video (but not for PC!) to watch video offline. And the number of downloads is limited to 30 in the basic plan. So they have more shorter videos and it makes customers oreder more expensive plan with 100 downloads limit.

Not sure.... but for Day -2 Wednesday 24th, there is indeed a single file for each Rugby Sevens match as you say, but there is also a single broadcast from 14:20 to 21:00 that shows every single match in the session.

It is because schedule of Eurosport 2, but specifically on Max there only the every game in separate streams option.

Also I see another event not being televised, the Kayak Cross Time Trial, which is quite weird since it is not so difficult to cover and it is usually covered during World Cips etc...

Also I see every day at 22:30 they added a 45 minutes stream called All Sports, I assume it will be a sort of Summary Daily Round Up of the day, which I will approve, I missed this daily summary videos last couple of games.

But doesn't Max give you access to the ES streams?

Yes, that´s what I meant, the full integrated stream of all matches will be on the Eurosport 2 stream, but beside that Max have the matches separated on its Paris 2024 streaming schedule.

I wonder if max will also have the additional Eurosport channels during the Olympics, I´ve heard somewhere Eurosport is planning to have around 6-7 channels during Paris, but so far max have only the classical Eurosport 1 y 2 channels listed and available

That’s how it’s been done before: ES does the aggregation of the Overall Gymnastics, Overall Athletics, Best of Badminton etc, and the streaming does the detail of the Parallel Bars, the Long Jump etc.

here in Italy there will be 7 additional channels dedicated to different disciplines (basketball, volleyball and beach, handball, football, racket sports & golf, combat sports, artistic sports -mainly gymnastics and diving) and 1 more channel in 4K (most likely a clone of Eurosport1)

they will start only on July, 26th, so we have to wait before we see if they're also on the D+ app (I think yes, because they're already announced on basically every Italian service, from our pay-tv Sky to the OTT like Tim Vision and DAZN)

4 years ago, we had those channels on Discovery+, but not on Eurosport Player

this time, since Eurosport Player is not active anymore, I think we are gonna watch those channels on the only platform still available (Discovery+, here we have to wait at least 2 more years to get the full Max app because of the existing deals betweek Sky Italia and HBO)

This is extremely annoying.

    • One of my favorite songs from the early 2000s that I listened to on a cassette on my walkman
    • For me 20 medals will be good. And if more there are? Super. However, I prefer not to get my hopes up too much, so as not to be disappointed later.
    • If you're still taking suggestions, I tought the following:   Team Madison format.   17 teams of 2 "riders", randomly drawn. Teams can be named for famous "endurance" track cyclists. 4 intermediate "sprints", one after a voting block, in which the top 8 teams will score according to this formula: (10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1). The order in which team score for a sprint are determined by the total number of "medals" won by both members of the team during the block. Ranking will be sorted according to the number of gold medals, then silver, then bronze. If there's two or more teams with same number of points, the medals of best individual performer of each team will be considered to break the tie. If the tie remains, then team's total points during the block will be used to break it. If the team fails to receive a single medal during each block, it will be considered to "lose lap" and 20 points will be substracted from their score. If the team fails to score at least 1 point during each block, it will be an automatic DNF for the team. If both members of the team get a medal from a single jury, it will be considered to "gain lap" and 20 points will be added to their score. A team can only win an additional lap per voting block. After the 4 intermediate, a "final" sprint will be recorded, in which points will be doubled (20, 16, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 & 2). Ranking for the final sprint will take into account the total medals won during the event.   What do you think?
    • I don't medal pick, per se... I assign probabilities/expected-values and total them up. So I don't have a gold medal estimate... but if you want one, divide those numbers by three and you'll be pretty close!   I imagine Norway, Italy and Netherlands and maybe Canada will probably skew a bit higher on golds, and US, Germany, and Sweden will skew a little lower... so maybe: Norway - 14 US - 11 Germany - 11 Italy - 11 Canada - 10 Austria - 8 Netherlands - 8 Japan - 7 Sweden - 6 France.- 6   I was surprised seeing Italy come in that high, I was figuring 22-23, but I guess they've been do well on the World Cups.
    • If you were to predict top- 10 for the number of gold medals, what would it look like?     For me, as an Italian, any result for Italy: +20 medals would be OK (if that will include 6-7 gold medals). The trauma of Turin 2006 is too great
    • Doesn't really help that two of the strongest countries in that particular sport are banned from the team event for well known reasons.
    • Just another reason why it's super dumb that the NOC max in freestyle skiing isn't 40.
    • In rugby there's More Squidge Rugby (the main channel has proper videos).
