Oh wow, says he has '2 to 4 years to live' (in so far doctors can do more than give a rough estimate with these things). Damn.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

2-4 years is not a short time to enjoy life - the question is what will life be like after 2 years? Will it not be full of pain in hospice and under morphine?

Sure, but if you're 48, you've got two young children and a wife with a very strong form of MS, having 2 years left isn't exactly a great look. And that is, indeed, if those 2 years are somewhat 'healthy' instead of being full with painkillers and such.

Sven Goran Eriksson probably had 1 year to live after the diagnosis but it was a good life or so it looked like - he traveled, for example, he was in Rome at the Lazio stadium in the spring. If he felt really bad, he probably wouldn't have traveled. I hope it's similar for Hoy, although unfortunately cancer with metastases to the guests can cause severe pain :(

Happened to the rock guitarist Wilko Johnson.  He was also given a short time to live but survived for nine years.

my mom was given a 2-month diagnosis with leukemia...she survived 23 months, a few of them even with decent quality of life

but I wish you'll never ever get to experience what being a "dead man/woman walking" (or living every single day of that period beside him/her) means ;)
