I'm just glad it's over

really shameful performance by :ITA

even Bellandi, who finally took the scalp of :GER Wagner in the semifinal match, couldn't end the tournament with the expected result, as lost once again against another :GER player, this time Alina Boehm (who actually also has a positive head-to-head record vs Bellandsi, who clearly is heavily uncomfortable when facing the Germans)

the only really good, promising result is Asya Tavano's bronze medal in the super-heavyweights, where she beat a lot of players higher than her in the WR to reach an important medal and, even more, to add a lot of points in her quest for the Olympic qualification

5th place in the +100kg for our Márius Fízeľ :) People will say meh... but it is a very nice result and we did not have anything close to that for ages in this sport, he is still relatively young so the still long transition period we will have to survive until the talented youth prospect Patrícia Tománková will come to shine on the worlds tatamis can be somehow survivable :p

He is still fighting for the Paris continental quota, would be amazing if he´ll manage to succeed and obtain it. It is already 12 years Slovak Judo had no representatives at the Olympic Games, would be really nice to stop this droughts

    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
    • Learned that Tigst Assefa  in London also lowered the women-only Women's Marathon time.  (I learned they have a women-only record, and a mixed record, to avoid pacemakers...also nevermind that she was running along with other men in the men's marathon, which had started first.)
    • Anyway, a piece of history has been written today as  for the first time ever topped a preliminary round group at the U18s.  Was about time as well though      Quarterfinals schedule is also on - The Relegation direct match GER vs NOR is schedulled also on Thursday morning at 10 AM in Trenčín

    • I really don't like U18Worlds schedule....  Finland's QF game against CZE is at 1pm our time lol PS. Hey @hckošice, That Finland - Slovakia game was PRETTY CRAZY?
