In all fairness:

 

Mecano is one of my favorite bands in Spanish, so it was defined from the beginning that a top 12 for them was guaranteed.

 

And for the record, Mexican independence wars started with a priest rallying the peasants to the cry: "Long Live Ferdinand the VIIth", plus the "Spirit of '21" was in fact a reactionary movement to avoid the rule of the Liberal regime that took power in Spain that same year.

I got my movements mixed up after reading mission history for the opening ceremony. My Mexican history is weaker than it should be honestly
