and it was a 7-year old record, not one that gets broken every season...

by the way, Kramer was also in the team that previously held the record...

Oh well, these lame dodos that they call commentators barely even noticed Leerdam's time was actually quite good (only slightly above the WR)...instead, they said it was "at least a new NR"

Wow, Jutta (pronounced 'Utah' basically) wins gold in Utah. Not the biggest fan in the world of these athletes who like themselves a little too much or at least come across like that, but she is a phenomenal rider

Whatever gave you that idea? :yikes:

Her interviews on Dutch TV basically :p

I'm sure she's not a 'not nice person' or something, don't get me wrong, she just doesn't strike me with a vibe that makes me a fan :p

with :JPN Miho Takagi not even on the podium, beaten by 2 Russians (Lalenkova and Kazelina)...

now let's see what happens in the men's race over the same distance...:mumble:

:RUS Yuskov can't overtake :USA Mantia...

however, both are well above (about 2 seconds) the world (& track) record held by :NEDNuis...

Why on earth did Roest waste his effort right there...?

Not that he would have made the podium. He peaked in October.

Damn, after being destroyed in the 5 and 10k, Roest now gets screwed by Oda's fall and then still goes on to ride 26.1 - 26.2 - 26.9 :yikes: That's insane

Because going for a reskate makes no sense anymore with the already wasted effort and after his shitty 5 and 10 k, he might have wanted to get some confidence towards the upcoming world championships.

the worst :NED Roest since quite a long time...

:JPN Oda was flying in his second lap, but crashed badly off the curve entering the "home" straight... (at least, he's not injured)...

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
    • Marian Kasprzyk (boxing) - 1964 Olympic Champion & 1960 bronze medallist passed away at the age of 86.

    • Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.

    • What is happening in Canada , people leave it  They say life is very expensive , you cant find an appartement , the salary is miserable    is it the multi tax of Trump?
    • Weightlifting We now have six events per gender with a total of 10 athletes per event.   The Olympic Qualification Rankings will be based on the sum of the total results of five events (three from period 1 and two from period 2). The top 8 will qualify.   The 9th spot will also be based on the OQR, but it will go to the highest ranked athlete from an unrepresented continent.   The 10th spot will be split between the host and universality (3 each per gender). Should the United States qualify normally then their host quota will be reduced, first going to an athlete from an unrepresented continent then to the overall highest ranked athlete.   Additionally, a "Best Lifter" will be awarded which would give the nation the chance to qualify 4 athletes rather than the max of 3.
