Player’s Union vote to commit suicide, makes an MLB Season restart anytime soon difficult.

Fortunately the players have backed down: preseason Training restarts 1 July: actual season 23 July.  60 games then playoffs.

tbh, they just gave up on everything...

super-short season, prorated play (which means only about one third of their salary at max) and all those technical things they wanted to fight against (especially the 3-hitter rule for pitchers and they even accepted the universal DH, which is pure sacrilege to me)...

the owners won under any aspects of the deal...

I imagine something like a single flat fee for all three segments - ie pre-, regular- & post-season.  Anything else would be too complicated.  Maybe a seperate post-season deal at the end of September.  Say €40-50 for the lot?

Some powerful stuff right here. He is the fourth player to opt out of the 2020 season due to Covid-19 concerns.
