I would like to know a neutral opinion about it. Is it really Brazil being so aggressive in its defense or are the referees doing everything for Norway to win? :mumble:

A bit of a strange sport, similar to water polo. Referees can arbitrarily influence the outcome of the match through penalties.

I agree. There was a moment when the Norwegian player literally slipped and one of our players was sent off for 2 minutes.

Well, this team doesn't have any big ambitions in this tournament but had very good performances against Germany in friendlies and now Norway. Let's see what they can do in this tournament.

In a very close games with the teams are running head to head our sport is biased (unfortunately) by refs
will give you an example:
if the defender is defending while he is inside the 6 m it's a penalty (by book) .. but million times you  can see the defender is barely touching the line ...if the ref whistle for each touch, each attack will end with penalty.
now the biased part .. if the player now defending and touch the 6 m line, and the ref whistle a penalty ..it's not wrong ..actually it's right by the book ..if he whistle only a foul ..again it's most common and very normal in the sport ..the biased part when the ref whistle penalty for a team and whistle foul for the other team .. each decision alone is correct ..but combining them together is the problem..

the most famous biased game I have ever seen is :QAT vs :POL in WCh 2015

to answer your question, the ref decisions were not wrong .. but usually in favour of one team over the other.

yesterday's results:

:CZE VS :SUI 17 -17 @rafalgorka how on earth you expected a tie  .. in Handball we never expect something like that even the teams are even ..good one mate

:EGY VS :ARG 39-25 expected win but 14 goals different is a surprise ..3 red cards for :ARG didn't help the team in defense ..the 2nd red card is very bad, 80s -90s style

:NED VS :GUI  40-23 very easy game for :NED

:POR VS :USA  30-21 good game from USA.gif , I am expecting :POR were not playing so hard

:CRO VS :BRN 36-22 another expected results, the 3rd game of this group will be the decider who will be in first place between :EGY  and :CRO

:GER VS :POL  35-28 first half was brilliant, very fast handball .. great goal keeping specially from :POL GK .. but the polish defending on pivot was horrible .. 2nd half was purely for :GER

:HUN VS :MKD 27-27 very good game from :MKD , :HUN was playing very poor yesterday

:NOR VS :BRA 26-29 the biggest surprise so far, :BRA team deserved the win despite some debatable decisions from the ref, beating :NOR at home is a great results.. but could :BRA continue with the same performance .. consistency is their biggest problem

today's games:

:ITA VS :ALG

:KUW VS :FRA

:SLO VS :CUB

:ESP VS :CHI

:AUT VS :QAT

:ISL VS :CPV

:SWE VS :JPN

:TUN VS :DEN

    • Looking at Team GB opportunities after adding Obstacles I would say it's very rarely to find Jo, Myles, Charles, Kerenza or Olivia compete in a very high level. I like Jo's personality, I met him once before COVID in Bath University and his enthusiasm for winning was very obvious (he made the Gold later in Tokyo).   maybe we have a girl in U 19 who finished 4th in the last U19 WCh (Zoe Spokes). But no shining names in men event.   on the other hand, my other Country  are very focused (since 2021) to introduce obstacles to their team members, I am in doubt if El-Gendy can be the top athlete but we have 4-5 athletes in both men and women who can easily be on the podium in LA 2028 including El-Gendy junior.
