Maybe @phelpspicked the wrong Japanese transfer? :p Kodai Senga had a shaky first inning in MLB but settled for 8 K after that in Mets' 5-1 win over Marlins.

obviously...

but he was a late pick, when Senga wasn't available anymore.

my top pitchers are Cole, De Grom  and Fried (already in IL :hairpull:) among the starters and Hader among the relievers.

Pablo Lopez and Tyler Anderson are the 2 that saved me from the absolute disaster so far...

Yeah, there are only a handful of SP who really sustain top level for several years in a row. I do have a feeling there's a biger group of guys who have one or two great seasons and then tail off yet carry a reputation of being great for a while (without me looking at this WAR stats or whatever the analytics say). Betting on deGrom at this stage is 50/50...

Carlos Carrasco season debut is down the tank, pulled in the 5th down 0-3, then reliever Hunter pours gasoline giving up a Grand Slam to rookie Turang and it's 10-0 Brewers :coffee: Mets learn there are better teams in the league than Marlins the hard way...

The Twins really might go 162-0! This team is playing out of their minds!

But, as is the norm with Minnesota sports teams, rile up the fans during the regular season and then embarrass yourself like sitting on a whoopee coushion at a formal event during the playoffs.

But I am happy for now!

Sandy Alcantara had to pitch a CG shutout to deny the Twins and Marlins escaped with 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile Brewers beat Mets 9-0 which included Max Scherzer giving up 3 HR in one inning :p

Even a Yordan Alvarez Grand Slam can't stop the Twins who beat Astros 9-6 :p

Rays still unbeaten at 7-0, Brewers at 6-1 the second best team through the first week. Angels lead AL West despite losing the home opener to Blue Jays yesterday (in vintage Angels fashion, only Trout & Ohtani with hits and the bullpen sucks).

Tampa Bay Rays become only the 7th team in MLB history to start the season 10-0. Previous six were Dodgers '55, Pirates '62, Indians '66, Athletics '81, Braves '82 and Brewers '87.

Going 10-0 in the MLB to begin a season is remarkable and should be celebrated, but just look at the teams that Tampa has played.

Detroit - 2022: 66-96 / 2023: 2-7

Washington - 2022: 55-107 / 2023: 3-7

Oakland - 2022: 60-102 / 2023: 2-7

Now playing Boston (below .500 in 2022 as well).

Plus, 10 of their first 13 games are home games.

    • Hi !   Like 2024, I'll do the counts of the number of countries who will win at least one medal during these olympiads. The record for Winter Olympic Games is 30 countries for Pyeongchang. Do you think we can reach this score in 2026 ?   Like the last time, I separate all the nations in 6 different categories :         Group 1 (14)   Countries that has reached at least 5 medals in each Olympic Games from Turin to Beijing   For these countries, I'm not afraid for them, I think they'll reach their minimal quota this year.   Concerned : Austria, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, USA + AIN     Group 2 (7)   Countries that has reached at least 5 medals in one of the 5 last Olympiades   I think they'll also gain at least one medal this year, but be careful !   Concerned : Belarus, Czechia, Japan, Latvia, Poland, Slovena, UK     Group 3 (6)   Countries that won at least 1 medal in at least 2 of their participations in Olympic Games from Turin to Beijing   they are still here, but they are not immune to poor performance ! From there, we will take a look on these countries.   Concerned : Australia, Croatia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Ukraine     Group 4 (6)   Countries that won at least 1 medal in at least 1 of their participations in Olympic Games from Turin to Beijing   We will clearly not bet on them, but they have already the experience of the win !   Concerned : Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Spain     Group 5 (17)   Countries that never won a medal in the last 5 Olympiads, but have at least 5 qualified Athletes this time   Maybe the quantity will prime above the quality for them !   Concerned (in order of number of qualified) : Romania, Lithuania, Brazil, Israel, Georgia, New Taipei, Turkey, Argentina, Andorra, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Greece, Bosnia, Armenia, Moldova, Mexico, South Africa     Group 6 (43)   Else     (please note : I just check that, I don't know which athletes has the best chances in each sports).     So, if we go on the fact that groups 1,2,3 and 4 will win at least on medal for each, we have a base of 33 and make the record ! That will be our goal this time   (Also in the topic, i'll take the count for each Group during these Olympic Games)   Thanks for reading !         Current results   Events : 0   Groupe 1 : 0/14 Groupe 2 : 0/7 Groupe 3 : 0/6 Groupe 4 : 0/6 Groupe 5 : 0/17 Groupe 6: 0/43     Total : 0/33
