June 9th team size predictor. S

Artistic swimming: 8 (confirmed)

Diving: 9 (Could be 8, but I predict 9, 4 men and 5 women)

Swimming: 26-30 (hard to tell, due to the nature of the trials).
Water polo: 12 (confirmed)

Archery 4 (I predict the men's team will qualify)

Athletics: 50 (47 have qualified at the moment, 25 women and 22 men). 50 is a conservative estimate

Badminton: 8 (confirmed, 1 entry in each event)

Basketball: 12 (women's team confirmed)

Boxing: 4 (3 women, qualified, one man is on the ranking list, does not include Mandy Bujold)

Canoeing: 18-19 (4 in slalom and 14-15 in sprint, depending if LVL gets a quota)

Cycling: 23 (Road:5, track: 13, mountain biking: 3, 2 in bmx) Confirmed.

Equestrian: 6 (confirmed)

Fencing: 9 (confirmed)

Field hockey: 16 (confirmed)

Football: 18 (confirmed)

Golf: 4 (all but confirmed)

Gymnastics: 7 (5 in artistic + 2 in trampoline, Jeremy Chartier has done enough)

Judo: 6 (73kg, 81 kg, 90kg and 100 kg for men and 52, 57 and 63 for women, more or less confirmed)

Karate: 0-3 (3 athletes in contention for spots at the final qualifier)
Rowing: 29 (confirmed)

Rugby: 24 (confirmed)

Sailing: 9 (confirmed)

Shooting: 1 (confirmed)

Skateboarding: 3 (confirmed)

Softball: 15 (confirmed)

Sport climbing: 2 (confirmed)

Table tennis: 3 (confirmed)

Taekwondo: 1-2 (still awaiting confirmation on reallocation for 49kg)

Tennis: 6 (Raonic. Shapovalov, Auger-Alliasiame, Andrescu, Dabrowski and Fichman), hoping for more, but I think this is it

Triathlon: 4 (2 women, 2 men, all 4 should be safe)

Volleyball: 18 (men's indoor, 2 pairs in women's and 1 in men's for beach)

Weightlifting: 5 (4 women and 1 man, confirmed)

Wrestling: 4 (confirmed)

At a minimum: 364 qualified, could be as high as 383, either number would be national record in a non-home/boycotted games, not to mention below, which with luck can bring the team size into the 400's!

TBD:

Men's basketball (12 athletes)

If all goes well for swimming/basketball/athletics, we are looking at around 395~ athletes. Just hope it could be 400!

Do you know if Swimming Canada intends on bringing B Standard folks for the men in events that don't correspond to the relay? Part of the reason there's more men than women is that Ruck/Pickrem have so many events. I have my eyes on MacNeil to qualify in either the 100m back or free - I'm not sure pre-selecting Ruck to that 100m Free spot was a smart move, so may not finish in the top 2 at the trials.

Yea she seems to be off her form. Always up and down with her. I am not sure what Swimming Canada will do in terms of b swimmers...but if they hit or better their entry times, they should be selected.

Ruck does seem to perform when it counts so maybe she just thrives under pressure.

What happened to our women's C2 500m team of  Laurence vincent-lapointe and katie vincent? Why did it give Japan the Americas quota saying there were insufficient athletes when Canada is ranked number one in the world before Laurence missed the 2019 world championships? Shouldn't they get it because of their dominace from 2017-2019 and the fact Laurence was proven clean and there wasn't a  chance for them to battle for a spot in the Americas region? I just don't understand how Japan got that spot when they aren't from the Americas region.

Most don't get it either. Hoping she gets a slot to compete. Canoe Kayak Canada is trying its best.

Btw welcome!

Thanks :) . It honestly seems fishy to me lol. They are ranked number one in the world yet they don't get the spot. Seems like an excuse to not give them a spot because they are so dominant. How do you know canoe/kayak Canada is working hard to get them the quota?

And there was other Pan American boats in the race that they could have given it too as well. Bizarre they just gave it to non Pan American countries.
