An update on Team Canada for Tokyo. There are errors, A LOT of them actually, but for the most part its solid. The interesting bit is the taekwondo section, where they are waiting on a ruling for a wildcard (presumably for Yong)

Tomorrow starts a 9 part Athletics competition across Canada to allow for athletes to improve their rankings/hit the standard.

Arthur Margelidon and other judoka from Team Canada tested with a false postive for Covid and cannot go to the worlds in Budapest. He is 6th in the rankings and there is potential to drop below 8th (which would drop him from being seeded for the games)

Skylar Park won gold at the Pan American Championships, a nice warm up for Tokyo

 

Yong won bronze in the 46 kg category.

Adam Keenan with a PB of    75.29 in the hammer, moves him into 38th in the Road to Tokyo rankings

 

6.74 for Christabel Netty in the Long Jump, moves her from 33rd into 32nd (and last position) for Tokyo.

6.74 for Christabel Netty in the Long Jump, moves her from 33rd into 32nd (and last position) for Tokyo.

Netty seems to be on an upwards trajectory - hopefully she qualifies and can get back up to her form from a few years ago.

Looking at the psych sheets for the Canadian trials, looks like they did not invite Summer Mcintosh for the 400m free

Did they not invite her or did she choose to not race that? I could see an argument why she would focus on the 200m free for relay and the 800m/1500m for her first Olympics.

Well 400 she hit the standard, and has a best shot of making the final in that event. Perhaps its an error.
