First relay for Sophie Chauveau and she will start ahead, I hope it won't put too much pressure on her...

And here we go...  Damn they were doing sooooo well so far and now there may not even be a podium at the end :(

This should also be her only relay for this season, that risk can no longer be taken. They has already lost today extremely many points in the World Cup.
In addition, Chloe has delivered well today. That Julia will run again next week and in Oberhof, is certainly clear.

Since it was her first relay they should've put her at the beginning so there would've been less pressure, instead of 3rd which was such a big responsibility.

I was totally impressed by Chloé's shooting, she shot so fast! Almost all her shots were bull's eye in the standing.

If only she could do that in individual races as well...

She shoots too slowly for the first relay position. She shoots on average between 30-35 seconds, while athletes like Knotten or Jeanmonnot shoot 2x just over 20 seconds. They would have been totally on the defensive at the start.

To be honest, they certainly didn't expect to have such a big lead after Chloe. And yes, Chloe was very strong at the shooting range today. Especially when she's standing, she likes to start thinking and sometimes has 5 seconds between the shots. Today she pulled through.

And in the last 4 season highlights the French women's relays went thoroughly in the pants (Östersund 2019: 8th, Antholz 2020: 14th, Pokljuka 2021: 8th, Beijing 2022: 6th), because they always had a lapse at the shooting range, with the exception of Pokljuka, where they had completely screwed up. A medal is a must this year, and Chauveau would be the biggest risk factor at the shooting range next to Colombo, especially if you think about the wind in Oberhof.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

    • Weightlifting We now have six events per gender with a total of 10 athletes per event.   The Olympic Qualification Rankings will be based on the sum of the total results of five events (three from period 1 and two from period 2). The top 8 will qualify.   The 9th spot will also be based on the OQR, but it will go to the highest ranked athlete from an unrepresented continent.   The 10th spot will be split between the host and universality (3 each per gender). Should the United States qualify normally then their host quota will be reduced, first going to an athlete from an unrepresented continent then to the overall highest ranked athlete.   Additionally, a "Best Lifter" will be awarded which would give the nation the chance to qualify 4 athletes rather than the max of 3.
