Canada advanced to the semifinals of the FIBA Men’s AmeriCup 2025 with a 94-56 win over Colombia on Thursday. Next matxh against Argentina in Saturday’s semifinal.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the winner of this years Northern Star Award as the best Canadian athlete of 2025. This is his 2nd time winning the award.

Canada names roster for Window 2 of FIBA Men’s World Cup 2027 Qualifiers:

 

Aaron Best — Toronto, Ont.
Charles Bediako — Brampton, Ont.
Marcus Carr — Toronto, Ont.
Nate Darling — Halifax, N.S.
Kaza Kajami-Keane — Ajax, Ont.
Kur Jongkuch — London, Ont.
David Muenkat — Brampton, Ont.
Kassius Robertson — Toronto, Ont.
Jackson Rowe — Toronto, Ont.
Thomas Scrubb — Richmond, B.C.
Keevan Veinot – Port Williams, N.S.
Kyle Wiltjer — Portland, Oregon

 

Canada will face Puerto Rico on Feb. 26 at 7:10 p.m. ET / 4:10 p.m. PT in San Juan, Puerto Rico, before travelling to Kingston, Jamaica to take on Jamaica on Mar. 1 at 6:00 p.m ET / 3:00 p.m. PT.

Both games will be available to stream live in Canada on TSN+ (subscription required).

Canada enters Window 2 atop Group B with a 2-0 record, following a sweep of the Bahamas in Window 1 — a 111-75 victory in Nassau and a 94-88 win at home. Jamaica also sits at 2-0 after sweeping Puerto Rico, setting up a pivotal matchup between the group leaders in Kingston.

Puerto Rico and the Bahamas enter the window at 0-2.

 

Nathanial Mitchell returns as head coach for Window 2. He is joined by assistants JD Jackson, Hanno Möttölä and Phil Jevtovic, who were part of the staff during the opening window.

FIBA Men’s World Cup 2027 Qualifiers: :PUR - :CAN 85-96 in OT

 

Canada secured advancement to the second round with this win.

Marcus Carr contributed 35 points and 9 assists!! Kyle Wiltjer also added 18 points.
