Croatia National Thread

After taking a quick look at FINA rankings, it looks like we are pretty much guaranteed at least 2 OST invitations. Ana Radić in 200m I.M. and Mario Todorović in 50m free. Radić might also get it in 200m breaststroke while Todorović also has a chance in 100m butterfly.

Outside of these two, the best hope is Marko Krce-Rabar in 200m backstroke, and maybe (but unlikely) Kristijan Tomić in 100m breaststroke.

A lot depends on whether the middle-tier swimming nations will be accepting the OST standards on not. We will know the final outcome in a few days.

Radic and Todorovic if they qualify in one event they can start also in other events if they have the OST

Means e.g. If Radic gets in in 200IM she can swimm 200 Breast as well

I don't think that's how it works. Anyway, it definitely didn't go that way in 2012.

I found it.

Quote
Swimmers invited through OST/”B” Time are only allowed to compete in the events for which they received the FINA invitation.

So, they would have to be invited in both. Samardžić on the other hand has OQT in 200m back so she can compete in any other event in which she has OST (she probably will in 100m back).

Are you sure this is true?

The qualification system states that "Swimmers invited through OST/”B” Time are only allowed to compete in the events for which they received the FINA invitation."

Calic has won his quarterfinal match at the boxing qualification tournament. Too bad this category does only have one qualifier.

i thought it is that way, obviosuly it is not, but somehow does not make sense to me

in the end does not matter, as both of them have no chance for semifinal

I am not too happy that todorovic will go, i would prefer someone younger, his time is over and actually he never achieved anything

any news about marcela maric? is it confirmed now?

Great news for calic, semifinal, he needs two more wins, so close and so far ....

I am still hoping that Muzaric will qualify this week at the ECH in Amsterdam and maybe Mulabegovic

nothing about radic :(

She should be in too, as there are no more than 2 potential swimmers with OST ahead of her.
