Canadian wrestling is at an all time low, 125 kg wrestler lost to JAMAICA at the Pan Am Championships.

Wrestling trials are this weekend. The top seeds are all in the finals automatically and the finals will be a best of 3. No upsets so far.

Women’s 57kg: Hannah Taylor

Women’s 76kg: Justina Di Stasio

Men’s 57kg Freestyle: Darthe Capellan

Men’s 65kg Freestyle: Lachlan MacNeil
Men’s 74kg Freestyle: Stone Lewis

Men’s 86kg Freestyle: Alex Moore

Men’s 97kg Freestyle: Nishan Randhawa

Men’s 125kg Freestyle: Amar Dhesi

 

Hopefully we can qualify five female wrestlers (Di Stasio, Morais, and the two Godinez sisters) at the very least. Seven wrestlers (adding Dhesi and MacNeil) would be best case scenario.

Final World Olympic Qualifier has started, today is women’s freestyle. 
 

Genevieve Morrison (women’s 50kg) with a 12-2 win over Switzerland, Karla Godinez (women’s 53kg) with a 4-0 win over Ukraine, and Linda Morais (women’s 68kg) with a 10-0 win over Lithuania in the qualification round.
