Not sure if this really answers your question.  I think the IBU treats this as the IBU Cup World Champs.  If you can qualify for an IBU Cup start, you can qualify for a OECH start.

This says when youth athletes are entitled to start, but in general it seems you are right and Brazil probably (surprise surprise) misread the rules last season, suggesting the OECH was not on the same level as the IBU Cup anymore in terms of qualifying.

Seems like it still is though, meaning you're eligible to compete if you're eligible to compete in the IBU Cup in the same trimester, which means you've scored under 250 IBU points in the previous trimester or - if you haven't - you did not compete at all in the previous two trimesters, so you start with a clean slate.

Just started off watching this.  :shame:

Can confirm that just as in the Good Old Days, :BLR are competing as a Region - as always, the Russians compete for regional or city teams like Moscow, St Petersburg, Khanty-Mansiisk etc.

    • Speak for yourself. Why should we give up our one great talent of the younger generation when we have no one else? Maybe from the same reason that the USA didn't give up Schiffrin to another country when she had 17-18...

We are slowly developing a complex about this country, because we are constantly losing to them in sabre too. Sabre has always been Ukrainian, epee for a draw or our slight advantage but a failed in women`s foil, which is already a shocking novelty
