Grassmarket 2,757 Posted April 27, 2022 #11 Share Posted April 27, 2022 Bench clearing brawl in Mets v Cardinals. Seriously impressive effort from one of the Cards pitchers, climbed a wall & must have sprinted 200m from the bullpen way over past outfield to get involved. Monzanator 3,594 Posted April 29, 2022 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2022 Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer suspended for two full seasons for the sexual assault case that came out last summer: https://www.mlb.com/news/trevor-bauer-suspension
Monzanator 3,594 Posted May 11, 2022 #13 Share Posted May 11, 2022 Rookie Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter yesterday. That's one way to keep a 12-0 game interesting. The Angels might finally not waste whatever Mike Trout has left to give while in the NL the Mets are also looking suspiciously above par so far. Granted, it can all change come the summer. Monzanator 3,594 Posted May 16, 2022 #14 Share Posted May 16, 2022 Only the sixth time in MLB history that a team allowed 0 hits and still lost the game. It's almost fitting this happened to the worst team this season - Cincinnati Reds who lost 0-1 to Pittsburgh Pirates. After three walks the only run was scored on fielder's choice who couldn't pull off a double play to end the inning. Topicmaster1010
Monzanator 3,594 Posted June 7, 2022 #15 Share Posted June 7, 2022 The Angels hot start in April is history as they fired Joe Maddon amid a 12 game losing streak. They got swept over the weekend by Philadelphia Phillies which only fired their own manager Joe Girardi on Friday I guess that was the last straw. Meanwhile it's still cooking in New York as Yankees & Mets lead each league and don't appear to be slowing down.
Monzanator 3,594 Posted June 24, 2022 #16 Share Posted June 24, 2022 Oakland Athletics gave up two runs on two wild pitches with two outs in the ninth to lose to the Mariners 1-2. That's borderline losing on purpose but A's are aiming for the worst record of the season at this rate. Frankie Montas had a no-hitter going into the eight and he's their #1 trade candidate to complete the roster blow out.
Monzanator 3,594 Posted July 10, 2022 #17 Share Posted July 10, 2022 A walk-off balk last night. Only the 23rd time that has happened in MLB history.
phelps 6,854 Posted July 11, 2022 #18 Share Posted July 11, 2022 WTF!!! that's not a balk... MLB umpys are digging deep this year with absurd calls... and they threaten a perennial strike if the league start to use the robo-calls for strikes and balls... c'mon, man! they just can't go on like that... Monzanator 3,594 Posted July 14, 2022 #19 Share Posted July 14, 2022 Seattle Mariners have won 10 games in a row - for the first time since 2002 This is only the fourth time they have a double digit win streak going. And this stretch happened when some of their key players were suspended following a brawl in the Angels game two weeks ago
Monzanator 3,594 Posted July 16, 2022 #20 Share Posted July 16, 2022 Josh Hader who is arguably the best closer in the game gave up 3 HR and walk-off Grand Slam vs Giants last night. It's possibly the worst blown save in MLB since 1969 Brewers led 5-2 entering the ninth and lost 5-8. NaBUru38
