@phelps and Zdeno played more than 16 minutes...

yeah...of course I saw the full match earlier this morning...;)

I mean, when he was presented to the crowd before the start of the game I was almost crying, thinking of what could ever be his feelings (and his pain, even if he would never admit that)...

the TD Garden was almost exploding...

but...but I still think that he took too much of a risk, playing in that situation...

and moreover, since life is normally full of injustice:bones::facepalm:his effort didn't pay off, as STL finally did play a great game (luckily the level of play is growing up game after game...after the first 3 ugly matches, now we've seen quite a couple of clashes in the last 2 games) and finally won 2-1...

now, on Sunday night in STL, Boston have to really dig deep in their hearts and in their tricks' bag to find the counters and get the series back to the TD Garden for game #7...

Absolute goosebumps !

I mean, every normal sport fan must be totally infected by emotions after seeing the crowd reactions to their captain for his insane and crazy devotion to the club.

wow! awful game by the Blues...

they had the big opportunity to clinch their first ever Stanley Cup at home, but they wasted everything big time...

since the beginning of the game, I started to doubt they could do it, as I couldn't see the determination, the sense of urgency, the adrenaline running through their veins, the famous "eye of the tiger"...

they just played an ordinary, sloppy game for 42 minutes...and when Carlo scored that (in)famous second goal for Boston (thanks to an unforgivable mistake by Binnington, who wasn't absolutely focused enough at the moment of Carlo's shot), it was all over...

the darkness of the night came down on STL and Boston easily took the game home to ensure themselves the chance of playing the decisive game #7 at home...

and they also equalled the NHL record for the biggest number of players who scored at least 1 goal in the playoffs in the same season (21, tied with the 1987 Philadelphia Flyers) when Kuhlman netted the 3rd goal of the night for them...

p.s. even the great captain, Zdeno Chara, despite his broken jaw, found the way to add his signature to the scoresheet, when he scored the last goal of the game in STL's empty net with about 1 minutes still on the clock...

that's the right prize to an amazing player, a really tough man and a wonderful captain...:hatoff:

wow! what an amazing surprise! :hyper:

I didn't really expect the Blues to win game #7 on the ice of Boston, but they did it in style, with an amazing bounce back performance from their rookie goalie Jordan Binnington, who kept them into the game in the early minutes, when Boston put quite some pressure on the Blues defence...

and what about the unbelievable run by Ryan O'Reilly, who also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Playoffs MVP...:hatoff:

it's not been the best Stanley Cup series of the last few years (understatement, if there's one), but at least it has given us quite a few unexpected turnarounds and ended like all the championships should do: going the full distance...

p.s. Boston might well be the winningest city in the US sports in the last few years, but their fans are definitely among the worst in the Country...

yes, they could win (quite often and in many sports, unfortunately)...but definitely they can't lose...:redcard:

most of them left well before the end of the match and those who were still in the arena at the time of the Cup raising were booing...not the behaviour people would expect from one of the cradles of US sport...:nopompom::facepalm::thumbdown:

Yeah this was rather pathetic, both of these things. Come on, 'your' team gives their all and you can't even bring up staying until the end and give them a round of applause for an entire season of fighting?

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
    • Idea (that I don't want to mess with right now, but someone else can steal the idea): Could feed the docs from LA28 + Paris 2024 through AI and see what it says.  (Would just take downloading them, perhaps merging them for ease of upload, and passing it through.)
    • If you have time would love to see a sport by sport overview of the changes/new sports
    • Slowly going through the documents.   Looks like canoe slalom qualifiers will be a bit different. More kayak cross quotas which will let nations to essentially qualify two kayakers.
    • How about we choose either Rome or Milano  I hate this timeline we have entered of multiple host cities / countries. The football World Cup became ludicrous, we don't need the Olympics to join them. At least not more than they already are.

The FIBA World Cup Qualifier in P.R. is a throwaway tour- nament for Team USA after the Gold Medal Game debacle. This is the perfect environment to test the Young Guns to see who has it, who does not, and who needs more devel- opment. The 2026 FIBA World Cup in Berlin is the tuneup for 2028 in L.A.
