Margaret River Pro starts in a few hours from now... Hoping for Brisa Henessey :CRC to get back her yellow jersey from Moore. Also excited to see if Tyler Wright can win back to back races..

In the men's event will support Fillipe Tolledo :BRA for his frequent high risk tricks helping him win Rip Curls last week!

Overall should be a very exciting event with at least 1 or 2 suprise semifinalists coming from nowhere. Perhaps some Western Australians using home advantage

Italy have gone shopping once again...

our newest competitor in the men's division is no less than Jesse Mendes, Tatiana Weston-Webb's husband (he has some Italian heritage by his father's side)...:yikes:

not only, Italy also hired Adriano De Souza (2015 WSL world champion) as the main assistent coach of Yann Martin (confirmed as the head of the technical staff of our NT)...

Looks like Women’s Surfing will the next to benefit from a competitive upgrade in the form of trans competitors, this one achieving a unique double of both men’s & women’s titles.

Surfing’s first competitive transsexual surfer Sasha Jane Lowerson has continued her dream run through the women’s division of the Western Australian longboard titles, winning the open gal’s crown easily.

OK so it was an interesting edition. Hope to see more surfers from abroad next year.

Classic Karnataka Goa duel with both of them claiming titles  at men's and women's respectively.

Highlight of the event was the National Women's Champion ,Sugar ,from Goa who beat all the experienced surfers and pre tournament favourites ,at just 16 years of age. Both Sugar and Sofia had some enthralling aerials in the tournament not at all in my expectations. Both are teenagers hope they don't give up the sport like millions of others in the country choosing studies over sports.

Brazil has 12 surfers in this tournament.

I would like to highlight Isabelle Nalu, on under 18. She is daughter of a famous brazilian big wave surfer. There is a prestigious TV Show where shows her family traveling around the world since she was a baby.

And now she is competing in a world event!

    • The Games are in China so I think the North Koreans will be taking part.
    • Speaking for myself, it is a bit daunting to think of nominations from nothing. Some kind of "long list" suggestion would be nice, but the work to come up with something like 30-50 options for each category would be quite onerous on the host/committee.
    • Before the last round only two teams are secured to play in round of 16: Liverpool and Barcelona   Already qualified at least at second round (playoff or R16): Arsenal, Aston Villa, Atalanta, Atleti, Bayern, Brest, Celtic, Dortmund, Feyenoord, Inter, Juventus, Leverkusen, Lille, Milan, Monaco, Real Madrid     There are nine teams with an elimination confirmed: Bologna, Crvena Zvezda, Girona, Leipzig, Salzburg, Slovan Bratislava, Sparta Praha, Sturm Graz, Young Boys   Last round next week
