Some updates in the rosters from last 2 days:

:CAN already added Tyson Jost from Colorado Avalanche, he already played yesterday against GB.

CAN has now 23 players (all 3 Goalies and 20 skaters) so 2 places left, one of them is reserved for the Columbus forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, already flying to Košice

:USA added their 7th defencer to the official roster Christian Wolanin from Ottawa Senators.

USA has now 22 players (2 Goalies (1 place still left) and 20 players (2 places still available))

:SVK added the forward Libor Hudáček to our official roster, he will play already tonight.

We have now 23 players (2 Goalies + 21 skaters) so 1 goalie and 1 skater places remaining. Unfortunately for us Boston is looking to advance to the Stanley Cup finals without serious troubles...so the dream about Halák, Chára, Cehlárik or the AHL Charlotte striker Jurčo areslowly but surely going to be unreacheable. we have in Košice the goalie Denis Godla and forward Dávid Bondra still not added to the official roster and waiting for the North American leagues outcome...while for Godla it appears to be very likely to be done, Bondra could have troubles, since after Marek Ďaloga injury we will probably fullfil the last spot with another defencer, who may be re-called from the preparations camp team.

:DEN added to it´s roster the 3rd goalie Simon Nielsen.

DEN has 22 players in the official roster now (all 3 goalie and 19 skaters) so still 3 spots for skaters available.

:SWE added 2 players, the goalie Jacob Markstrom from Vancouver Canucks and the forward Alexander Wennberg from Columbus.

SWE has now 22 players (all 3 goalie + 19 skaters) so 3 skaters players are still available, one of them will fullfiled by another super star Gabriel Landeskog the this season 75 points forward and captain of the Colorado Avalanche who already accepted the invitation.

:RUS added the blueliner of the Clorado Avalanche Nikita Zadorov as their 7th officially registered defencer

RUS has now 24 players (3 Goalies + 21 skaters) so only 1 spot for a skater remaining. Unfortunately for them it will not be fullfiled by Artemi Panarin the striker of Columbus who refused the invitation because of exhaustion and already has went for holidays.

:CZE registred on more player to their official roster. The Colorado goalie Pavel Francouz.

CZE has now 22 players (all 3 goalies + 19 skaters) so 3 places for skaters are still available for the preliminary round, one of them will be fullfiled with Radek Faksa, but due to agreement with Dallas Stars, they will be able to register him only from Thursday, despite the fact he is already in Bratislava with the team.

:LAT registered yesterday 2 players. Their superstar the Columbus goalie Elvis "the Rockstar" Merzlikins, who already was between the pipes in yesterday match against SUI only a couple of hours after his arrival from overseas and was just fantastic. also Latvia added the forward Maris Bicevskis.

LAT has now 24 players submitted in their official roster (3 goalies + 21 skaters) 1 skater position still available for them.

:AUT is the 4th country after GBR, FIN and NOR to complete and officially register the whole 25 players roster for the preliminary round. They fullfiled the last 2 skaters remaining spots with the forwards Alexander Cijan and Benjamin Baumargtner.

:ITA added the forward Simon Kostner yesterday, he already played against Sweden.

ITA has now 24 players in their official roster (all 3 Goalies + 21 skaters) 1 skater spot still available for Italy

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
