yes, basketball is popular. But I have give you example. On one side group1(Phelps, Bolt or Djokovic or Federer), nevermind. On second some USA basketball players (group 2), Im sure that most peoples who don;t follow sport a lot will choose to be photographed with athletes from group 1.

But Phelps is one athlete. Most people in Serbia don't know any swimmer other than Phelps. That's what I'm saying. Deandre is much better known around here than let's say Missy Franklin. And when I say around here, I don't mean only Serbia, I would argue that is the case in the Balkans, Baltics and most of Europe, even though in all these countries basketball actualy isn't sport no 1.

I agree about basketball. They are not that big stars. In USA yes.

Only peoples who follow basketball know all these players. In Europe is some countries basketball is not popular at all. Ok, maybe for Durant all the people heard, but Im not sure for example for De Andre Jordan or Lowry Kyle. Ok, I know all these players, but I follow NBA and basketball in general.

Obviously I disagree. Basketball is way more popular than swimming let's say in Europe. I mean it's all subjective opinions, only it isn't because look at how much basketball players are paid and how much are others paid.

There is no good free VPN, that's a fact. I have switched to TunnelBear after finding out what Hola does...

That is true, but you can use some trial versions which work for a week. Just use two emails and you'll have two weeks. BBC with VPN is probably the best way to watch Olympics. Other sources are for example Kodi program with Zem TV script etc..

In fact sorry man, but I don´t understand.

You was one of the users who asked to have the full list with athletics and swimming, and when we did it, you are the ONLY one to ask me to remove it ! (there any report from any else user about this format so far). but ok, even 1 user voice is important..so if you really can´t stand this format..ok, I´ll re-calculate everything again.....

but, please for everything in the world, have a bit of patience  !!!

I have not so many times those days to recalculate everything once again and once again, just for your eyes. sorry, but there many other threads and things to prepare. and when I found some free minutes I´m immediately trying to update this thread....so for now in the next days you will have to live with it

2004 was as Serbia and Montenegro...I'm surprised Serbia wasn't there in 2008 and 2012 :yikes:

Well, it's tough to qualify in basketball, only 12 teams is a joke, it should be 16. 2008 Olympic cycle was probably the worst ever for our basketball, and in 2011 we failed to qualify, there were better teams plus some injuries.

And even now we are not yet qualified in men's basketball even though I think we will qualify, but we are in women's basketball.

The whole "angry Serbs" thing aside, yes we will count Kosovo as a nation (which it is), obviously :d

But let's stop this right here before the thread goes in the completely wrong direction :p

Will Serbia debut in some sport in Rio?

Expand

It's a hard question because Serbia as a Serbia will have basketball for sure for the first time, last time it was in Athens as Yugoslavia or Serbia and Montenegro, I can't even remember. But I don't count that as a debut.
