So I have reviewed this case and read the notes included in your entry post. I see that this song has connections to Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia and you have highlighted that fact when presenting the entry.

I am happy to allow some flexibility in this case as with old traditional folk songs, it's often hard to trace the first root of the song and they sometimes have connections to many nations as is this case.

I contacted the other party and they said they are happy for Slovakia to enter the song. In fact there was not an objection to the entry, just a friendly note wondering if the song was eligible since it was a multi-national folk song.

So now that I am happy that the other user is ok for Slovakia to enter the song then I am also fine with allowing flexibility in this case as there is no doubt Slovakia has a genuine connection to the song.

Out of interest, Would there have been a problem if I entered a song by an Northern Irish artist to represent the UK?

I had considered it.

SLADE - FAR FAR AWAY

Lyrics

I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi I've seen the bridges of the world and they're for real I've had a red light of the wrist Without me even gettin' kissed It still seems so unreal

I've seen the morning in the mountains of Alaska I've seen the sunset in the east and in the west I've sang the glory that was Rome And passed the hound-dog singer's home It still seems for the best

And I'm far, far away With my head up in the clouds And I'm far, far away With my feet down in the crowds Lettin' loose around the world But the call of home is loud Still is loud

I've seen the Paris lights from high upon Montmartre And felt the silence hanging low in No-Man's-Land And all those Spanish nights were fine It wasn't only from the wine It still seems all in hand

And I'm far, far away With my head up in the clouds And I'm far, far away With my feet down in the crowds Lettin' loose around the world But the call of home is loud Still is loud

I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi The grand Bahama island stories carry on And all those arigato smiles Stay in your memory for a while There still seems more to come

And I'm far, far away With my head up in the clouds And I'm far, far away With my feet down in the crowds Lettin' loose around the world But the call of home is loud Still is loud
And I'm far, far away With my head up in the clouds And I'm far, far away With my feet down in the crowds And I'm far, far away But the sound of home is loud Still is loud

    • First, they lost the medal in the short dance, where their performance were also the worst in the season,   Second, since they had a good free dance, with which they won silver and bronze at the World Championships in previous years (with the result from 2023 it would be another silver today), why experiment and invent something new? You don't change what works well - better is the enemy of good,   The facts are that the Italian pair achieved a worse result at the World Championships than at the European Championships and generally had a weak season, and assuming the return of strong Russians, to win a medal they will need to score around 216-217 points, or maybe more.

    • That dance crap, which is a sport of robbery, this year confirmed that it is a mafia. The Italians have dared so much by presenting a programme very different from the classical standards (and I don't like it) and the judges are harshly and rightly beating them up. Fabbri and Guignard have already announced that they will return to classic programmes next year (and magically they will be back on the podium). A discipline decided at the table.     Do you want bet something?
