About This Club

A place to chat all things American NOCs
  1. What's new in this club
  2. The US Women's Rugby Sevens team have qualified to Paris after finishing in 3rd place in the 2022-23 World Rugby Women's Seven series: https://www.world.rugby/sevens-series/standings/womens The men's sevens team, which failed to qualified through the world sevens series after finishing 10th, will have a chance to qualify at the North & Central Americas/Caribbean qualifying tournament in August at Langford, Canada.
  3. Any guesses as to how much tickets will be? Also, any ideas on lodging? I think an Air BNB would be the best option, either near the Long Beach venues or near the shooting/equestrian venues.
  4. It's a long ways off, but I'd love to be there. I've only been to 1 other Olympics (Salt Lake 2002) and that was to work, so it would be nice to be there strictly as a spectator.
  5. That's a fair point. I think it's something I would love to do once or twice, but after that, I'll sit on the couch for 16 straight days and watch all the events, so I don't miss anything.
  6. The US has announced their teams for the 2023 FIBA 3x3 world cup, which will start at the end of May: USA announce teams for FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2023 - FIBA.basketball No automatic Olympic berths form this tournament, but it will definitely influenced the FIBA 3x3 world rankings, which is used to determine the first three team per gender to qualify for Paris.
  7. If time permits and I can get extended vacation time, I will be attending the LA games. I want to watch the track and field, swimming, soccer and badminton events.
  8. I was just discussing with my friends about trying to go to the Olympics in Paris since I'll be moving there for a bit this fall to study abroad. (probably still won't be there for Olympics though) but I was saying I honestly have very little desire to go to the olympics because I'd rather sit at home with 5 different screens so I can watch as many as events as possible (from the comfort of my own home) maybe I just don't like big crowds... but going to see 100m finals would be a dream.
  9. We should have a Discord mixer at some point. I think that would be fun.
  10. I graduate with a bachelor’s degree next week You give the same exact advice I’d give to anyone else in communications, entertainment, or management.
  11. Awesome! Good luck! I'm two years into my degree (halfway done). I've had a blast so far. I've been able to cover some cool events like the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament (sat front row). My tip: don't say no to anything. If any opportunity comes up, pounce on it. You never know what's going to happen. That would be a blast haha!
  12. They should just make the three of us the Gen Z Comms Team
  13. Wow we are similar. I am pursuing a degree in Mass Communications (Journalism focus) starting in the fall and would absolutely love working at LA28. I am more interested in the broadcasting side but also do work with newspaper (online and print) reporting.
  14. I've never really looked into the marketing/PR side of the industry. I think marketing would be really interesting, especially after the poor marketing that FIFA displayed last night for the 2026 World Cup logo.
  15. I’m happy working either side of the communications industry. I think I prefer journalism a little more to marketing/PR, but my field of study (and soon to be degree) is in public relations.
  16. Gotcha. I'm sure there will be other positions as 2028 gets closer. I was actually scrolling through their careers page on the LA28 website the other day. My dream scenario would be to cover to cover LA28 for a news outlet. I am pursuing a Journalism degree right now. If I can't cover it, I would ideally be there as a fan.
  17. Sorry to hear that. What kind of internship position was it for?
  18. Ideally, I’d like to work them if I’m in the LA Metro Area. I made it to the last round of interviews for an internship position, but I wasn’t choosen.
  19. Does anyone here plan on attending the LA 2028 games?
  20. It may be 5 years away but we are indeed host a future Olympics, so let’s keep updates on how preparations are going for our Olympic Games.

  22. I think having a specific thread for each sport should be sufficient.
