Men's American Football NFL 2022

The 2022 league year starts on March 16th but the first bomb just dropped: Seattle Seahawks traded QB Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos for QB Drew Lock and multiple 1st round picks. AFC West just got helluva more difficult.

Aaron Rodgers signed a new 4-year deal with Green Bay Packers to quash rumours about him leaving Wisconsin (it was never reasonable to think he leaves a weak NFC North to go to Denver or Pittsburgh Steelers).

DeShaun Watson won't be facing jury trial for his sexual harrasement case (still 22 civil lawsuits to be settled) and he toured several teams this week before finally choosing Cleveland Browns. Things got really serious in the AFC. Browns were allegedly out on the Watson trade but then Baker Mayfield threw a tantrum requesting a trade so Browns got back and beat Falcons & Saints which were rumoured to be the two most likely candidates (basically Falcons in the end).

The first round of draft happened yesterday. Jaguars taking DE Travon Walker over DE Aidan Hutchinson could go sideways fast.

Titans traded WR AJ Brown to Eagles and picked his replacement at #18 (they didn't want to play Brown big money which Eagles already did). Also Ravens traded WR Marquise Brown to Cardinals but picked a safety at #14 and a center at #25.

For once the Jets draft looks good on paper but they used all their three picks so the Deebo Samuel trade is probably not gonna happen.

Karlaftis is from Greece actually. He is from Athens and moved to the US as a teenager following his father's death. Then he joined the American football team at his high school and started playing. Back in Greece he played water polo and was apparently on our junior national team according to Wikipedia (and his generation later won the U20 World Championships in 2019...)

Would be pretty cool if he can have a successful career and make the sport popular in Greece.

The DeShaun Watson saga appears to be over. Judge recommened he gets suspended for 6 games in the 2022 season. That's borderline laughable for a case that featured 66 sexual harrasement cases at one point  Cleveland Browns will take that "penalty" with a big smile on their face.

    • I didn't this year. But the Summer Grand Prix is like Formula 3 to Winter Ski-Jumping being the F1  I mean Zografski of all people won the Grand Prix last summer, which says it all.

    • The squad was reserve, but that's a disgrace. Apart from Favaretto, there's no generational change. Without Volpi and Errigo, we're very weak. After Paris, it was already clear that the USA had clearly overtaken us. Cerioni isn`t the miracle worker he once seemed.
    • Italian women's foil team, with Errigo and Favaretto, lost against Ukraine in quarterfinals
    • This Finn trains in Norway. It would probably be better to send 2-3 of our juniors to Norway, pay the local federation and let them train there. Maybe something will come of it. We should have given money to the Colturi team and now we would be in a much better situation than we are now. France: 2 win for Clement, 4 place for Amiez. You can see that there is progress and we? 19 Vinatzer? This is a joke.
    • Croatia, Bulgaria and even the UK have skier in the top 10 today. The UK doesn't even have mountains with snow. Can you fall any lower than we do? If the UK had mountains like ours they would be the best in the world.
    • Nothing will come of this Italian slalom. It's getting worse every year. The Italians' style of riding is simply not suited to the current times. It's too slow. One Lara Colturi will earn more points for this 2nd place than the entire Italian men's and women's slalom team by the end of this year... I would give money to the Colturi team than to the entire squad of these mediocre skier.
