  1. A second Russian Volleyballer has been tested positive: http://www.sport1.de/volleyball/2016/03/volleyball-nach-dem-naechsten-dopingfall-eines-russischen-spielers-wird-der-deutsche-olympia-traum-konkreter Obmochaev did play at the Qualification Tournament, though it isn't known so far if he was tested positive at this tournament or later.
  2. Only if he didn't participate at the World Championships, I think. Edit: Could you please delete my post above this one? Something went horribly wrong.
  3. No, he isn't. But if Netherlands don't qualify as a team, they can decide which athlete to send to Rio: http://www.fig-gymnastics.com/publicdir/rules/files/olympic/GA_OG_Rio_2016_Qualification_System-e.pdf This would probably be Zonderland.
  4. Fencing: Britta Heidemann (Silver in London, Gold in Beijing) is in serious danger to miss Rio. Though she does still have a chance.
  5. Athlets, Swimming, Table Tennis and Cycling (Track and Road). I did not choose Football because it's not one of my favourites at the Olympics. Otherwise it is.
  6. For Germany, Marco Koch and Paul Biedermann are prequalified. They simply need to finish 1st or 2nd at the German NC to qualify. Everybody else needs the German standard time in addition.
  7. Thanks. In this case it looks quite a bit better for our men than I thought.
  8. I always thought the remaining Pentathletes (after the WC 2016) simply qualified by their place in the World Ranking. But now I found an Olympic Games Ranking on the official Website. What's the difference?
  9. I agree, she can't qualify now, but she can get the standards, of course. Women's Discus Throw and maybe the Long Jump could be similarly exciting.
  10. The European Throwing Cup is the first chance for the German throwers to get the national Olympic Standards. Though from our best throwers only Betty Heidler and Christin Hussong will compete.
  11. The problem in the French Relay are the other three legs. Or at least two of them.
  12. This has to be a typo and they mean January. In December Meldonium was still legal, so he couldn't have failed a test.
  13. If Russia gets DSQ (and I don't really think that they will) then there are two possibilities. 1.) France as the finalist gets the direct ticket for Rio and Germany gets the ticket for the Qualifier in Japan. or 2.) They have to repeat the European Qualifier. I can't believe that possibility number two will happen. France or Poland would be (understandably!) not happy about this at all. And they don't have much time anyway. the decision is at the end of April and the tournament at the end of May. They have to find a host, a date and the teams have to regroup. This seems impossible.
  14. According to this article, the positive test was after the match against Germany in the semi final: http://www.sport1.de/volleyball/dvv-pokal/2016/03/dvv-herren-winkt-nachtraeglich-ein-ticket-fuer-olympische-spiele-in-rio
  15. The women had a somewhat easier tournament. It was still difficult enough, but for the men it was really, really hard. I truly think that there wasn't as difficult a qualification in any other sport than this European tournament. Because of this I would always give the tickets for the men first. Anyway, the World Qualifier is at the end of May, so our team should better start preparing, just in case.
  16. And as the Ukrainian Biathletes.
  17. I don't know. This isn't mentioned in the document. There's a national pre-qualification and the three best athletes will go to the World Cup. And in Rio and Munich they can qualify for the Olympics. How excatly they can do it isn't said.
  18. The World Cups in Rio in April and in Munich in May serve as the German Qualification. For everyone who speaks German, here are all the qualification criteria by the DOSB: http://www.dosb.de/de/olympia/olympische-spiele/sommerspiele/rio-2016/dokumente/ Shooting is "Schießen".
  19. This is the sole Olympic Sport, where it is impossible for me to see any differences between the competitors.
  20. Thanks. By the way, could you please post the link to your wonderful blog? I just clicked on the link in the old forum and didn't bookmark it.
  21. How big is the chance for the German men to qualify at the final tournament?
