  1. Of course I want Germany to win as well. But didn't Klimke and Jung win Gold and silver at last years European Championships? That's already two very strong riders/horses right there. Two out of three.
  2. At least a medal for Klimke and the Olympic qualification for the team. Hopefully, it will look better in Tokyo with Jung in the team.
  3. Thank you. That's what I guessed, but German commentators say it's the other way around and I was doubting. Yes, RĂ¼der.
  4. Will the best three overall results or the best three results from today (jumping only) per team count for the Nations Cup?
  5. That's great, than Hojer has a medal because Ondra beat all the Japanese climbers in lead.
  6. Ah, so if someone finishes 1st, 3rd and 5th, for example (without a tie), they have 15 Points (1x3x5)?
  7. If there's a free program in Dressage on Monday, Germany will not take part, and so will probably many other countries, including the hosts: https://www.reiterrevue.de/news/sport/die-chaos-spiele-gehen-weiter-auch-fuer-die-dressur-9798184.html The article is in German, but here's the summary: European teams have booked their flights back to Europe on Monday. They don't want to risk having their horses go to a difficult competition first. According to this, the federations proposed a few days ago to have the final competition take place in a hall on Sunday. But the organizers weren't interested enough and now it's too late. According to the article, most federations have complete understanding for the German decision and/or plan to do the same. The Brits won't take part either. And the US federation agrees as well and plans to withdraw their horses out of solidarity. Tomorrow, the federations will propose to cancel the planned free program.
  8. Except that you have six attempts in Long Jump. Or at least three before you get eliminated. So one foul hasn't as bad consequences as a refusal in Eventing.
  9. Of course Krajewski is effing at up again. Just like in Rio and Aachen. Now it will be even a close call with the Tokyo qualification at this World Championships. If we qualify, I hope we'll see Krajewski nowhere near the German Team.
  10. IMO, with only three athletes per team, basically everything is possible in Tokyo. Just one of them needs to retire during cross country for the equipe to have no chances anymore. And that's always possible, look how many had to give up in Rio. I do agree that Germany is probably the favourite. But with the new rules the competition will be tricky.
  11. Thanks. Still an excellent result. Do you think this is fair or is this a disadvantage for those best in Dressage?
  12. By the way, did the scoring system in Eventing change? In Rio, the best result after Dressage were 37 penalty points and now Krajewski has 19,9?
  13. It's really not all that different from Gymnastics, where the qualification takes place over a few days.
  14. The other half is competing today and the best three results per team will Count for the team competition. It's just that the live scoring isn't working.
  15. It's not that hopeless for Italy. Bacosi at least can still easily make the final. And the other two have still a chance as well.
  16. Well, it wasn't that bad in the heats from the Lightweight double sculls: Second Place. Put Osborne in it, and they might at least have a chance for a medal.
  17. The players get penalized, once the racket gets destroyed (not when it gets merely smacked hard). That happens pretty regularly, and they always get a penalty. The difference is, that most of them are clever enough not to do it when they already have a penalty and risk a second (and worse) one.
  18. Of course it was. Let's be honest, they all get coached during Matches. And it was maybe a bit unnecessary to give a warning for this. But Serena should have the class and experience to deal with it.
  19. The crowd was disgusting. Really disgusting.
  20. I found the crowd worse than Williams. Really. I don't condone Williams' behaviour, but I can understand that she was under stress and reacted over the top in the heat of the situation. But the crowd?
