  17. NATIONAL SLIDING CENTRE Sports: BOBSLEIGH, LUGE, SKELETON Cluster: Yanqing Capacity: 10 000 (2000 seating) The National Sliding Centre is located in the Yanqing district, 70km northwest of Beijing. Just a kilometer from the Olympic Village. The new build venue will host all sliding events during the Beijing 2022 winter games. It is one of the biggest constructions provided for the upcoming olympics. The construction of the venue however used local terrain as much as possible, minimizing environmental impacts, reducing cut and fill, and saving investments according to the organizing committee. Now It is the first of its kind in the world to span 360 degrees, Chinese media has claimed. The Track is due cover an area of 125,937 square metres with a vertical drop of 127 meters. It will be 1.9 kilometres long with 16 angled curves and will feature a full circle spanning Yanqing District's Xiaohaituo Mountain's ridges to resemble the shape of a mythical Chinese dragon. The facility is the very first winter Sports Sliding venue in the country. Eight international ice makers from Russia, France, Canada and other countries and regions participated in the creation of the ice, along with 20 domestic workers. The National Sliding Center became also the first competition venue of Beijing 2022 where the host country national team was allowed to train. 3 Different sports will be contested in this venue in front of an expected capacity of 2000 seating places and another 8000 standing along the course, The competition in the sliding centre will start as was the custom at the previous winter games with Luge events (M & W Singles, M Doubles and Mixed Relay) then followed by Skeleton (M & W Singles) and completed by Bobsleigh events (M & W Two-Man, M Four-Man and historic debut of W Monobob).
