  2. Ah Okay I really started to be worried what is this ? because I never heard about the majority of names playing this week in your team, and seeing they receive only blow outs, I really started to think your coach just found some random guys in the street with dutch nationality and invited them here because however this is really not the normal level of Netherlands, normally you belong higher than this I guess this is the reason why you played only with 3 lines, keeping place for the arriving Trappers players well, good luck against Estonia then.

  4. So, today ended the Mens Division I Group A world Championships, let make a traditional last standing recap, Austria won the tournament with 12 points, Austria played a really modern, offensive and highly sympathetic hockey during this tournament, One of the keys of this success was the goaltending, Starkbaum in the net was almost unbeatable, he didn´t conceded any goal more than 3 hours of play. The last goal Austria received was a Hungarian goal in the first period of the 2nd match !!! since then no one scored against them. only 4 goals against is a great statistic, Austria also scored the most goals (22) but 11 of them only today in 1 match against Poland. Austria fully deserved the tournament win and after 2 years in Division IA finally will return to the top division next year. Silver went to Asia, South Korea wrote history this week, thanks the 11 points accumulated during the championship and better head 2 head confrontation with Kazakhstan (5-3) earned for the very first time in history promotion to next years Top Division, South Korea became only the second Asian Nation to reach this success after Japan. Austria and South Korea will replace next year in Top Division the last ranked teams of the both preliminary round groups from this years Top Division WCh in Paris and Cologne, which will start next Friday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kazakhstan took bronze with 11 points and worse H2H match with S. Korea, but it means also disappointment for them, since the Kazakhs just stoped their amazing "Elevator Thing" series, returning quickly back to top division and after 1 year dropping again back down..this time Kazakhstan will have to play the Division IA also at least 1 year more in a row. 4th Finished Poland. Poland had still chance to earn their first promotion to Top Division since 2002 but hugely failed in their last todays game and finished the tourney with 7 points and only 6 goals scored !!. Hopefully this good generation will recover from this sad experience and next year it will finally pay off and the guys will fulfill their dreams. One of the most disappointed teams will be certainly Hungary, mentioned as one of the top favorites before the tournament, unfortunately experienced a very unlucky tournament, earning only 3 points. Even more sad is for them the fact that all defeats were really close by 2 goals only and the matches were always opened until the last seconds. Definitely tough luck. Pity that Hungary will not be next year in Denmark, especially because of their amazing fans. They make absolutely fantastic atmosphere during the matches. hopefully we will see them in 2019 in Slovakia. Kazkahstan, Poland and Hungary will play the Division I Group A also next year. Last 6th place remains to the hosts. Ukraine was unfortunately the weakest team here, even with home advantage they collected only 1 single point from this tournament (thanks todays GWS lose against S. Korea), Labile defensive and really low offensive efficiency were the main points of this final rank for Ukraine. Ukraine will be relegated for the Division I Group B next year where they will replace the winner of the Division I Group B. Tournament still played this week in Belfast.
  5. Friendly Matches 28th April 2017 Mens Road to World Championships Norway "B" - Slovenia 3-5 Norway - Slovakia 2-3 Switzerland - Denmark 2-0 Very strange match, It looks like we tried some tests segments tonight. Great start with a almost perfect 1st period, outshooting the opponent and played very good hockey, fast, combative, very pleasant perfomance, scoring 2 nice goals, but then just stoped to play, allowing Norway to restart the match, we let them play and easily tie the score, but then suddenly we restarted to play again like in first frame and glue them in their zone, then scoring the winning goal and relatively easily controlling the end of the match. let see tomorrow, the last match before the worlds again in Hamar against Norway. Highlights (goals) of the match. the 2nd was a very nice one 2nd goal (all action)

  7. MEN'S DIVISION I GROUP A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round-Robin DAY 7 South Korea (GWS)2 - 1 Ukraine Period-by-Period: 0-0, 1-1, 0-0, OT: 0-0, GWS: 1-0 April 28th 2017, h. 20:30, Palace of Sports, Kyiv Korea promoted! Joins Austria to top division It was a heart-breaking final. Korea needed to beat Ukraine for promotion. The game went to shootout where Michael Swift and Sanghoon Shin scored for Korea. It will be the first time in history that the host of the 2018 Olympics will play in the top division of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship next year in Copenhagen and Herning, Denmark, where they will be joined by tournament winner Austria. Korea finishes the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A in second and the World Championship program this year in 18th place. The previous best placing was 21st in 2013 and 2016. Kazakhstan finishes the tournament in third place ahead of Poland, Hungary and Ukraine. The host earned its first and only point tonight but will be relegated. Korea outshot Ukraine 36-23 during the 65 minutes of play but did too little with its opportunities. Korea had more opportunities in a scoreless first period also during two power plays and opened the scoring at 4:59 of the middle frame. Shangwoo Shin got the time and space to patiently wait on the right side of the Ukrainian net before sending a pass to Jin Hui Ahn to the left, who gave Korean the lead. However, it Ukraine stepped up in the period and was rewarded. Sergi Babynets took Korea goalie Matt Dalton the puck away behind the net, skated back and put the puck in to tie the game. There were several hot moments in the third period like when defenceman Vsevolod Tolstushko saved a Korean shot with his skate and on the other side a Ukrainian shot missed the net me millimetres. For the last 29 seconds of regulation time and 71 seconds of the overtime period the Koreans played with a man advantage but Eduard Zakharchenko in the Ukrainian net had a strong night. Korea outshot Ukraine 8-0 in the 3-on-3 overtime. They managed to skate close to the Ukrainian net to shoot but missed out on the best opportunities. But in the shootout the Koreans were eventually more efficient while Dalton made two great saved. Penalty-Shot Shootout: Round 1: Micheal Swift (KOR) 1-0, Nikita Butsenko (UKR) save. Round 2: Minho Cho (KOR) missed, Vitali Lyalka (UKR) save. Round 3: Sanghoon Shin (KOR) 2-0.

  10. WHAT A THRILLER !!! WHAT A DRAMA !!! between S. Korea and Ukraine. Incredible game. still 1-1 after overtime. absolutely superb match. All Korea living and fighting for their big dream against Ukraine who fight like never for Kazakhstan fantastic game...now the GWS to start, if win they will play the top division for the first time ever.
  11. Great ceremony, lovely and interesting. I enjoyed it a lot and learned many things about Brighton. Very well done @uk12points and the Scoreboard is superb !!!
  12. Well, yes today it was very very bad in all points , slow skating, lack of vivacity, poor goaltenders performances from both goalies. only 56% Saves from the second netminder Radziszewski is absolutely disastrous number, in fact from some 16 shots he received 8 goals. I watched the match and I had feeling like your players lost this match mainly in their heads already before the start, they started the match like non prepared, distracted...I don´t know, it wasn´t Poland from the previous matches, maybe the problem was also about stamina after yesterdays game with Hungary, perhaps also the physical preparation was bad and insufficient. who know...the truth is that today it was very bad match from Poland. but still Austria had also a tone of luck, some goals were very dumb and extremely lucky and rarely repeatable, but they win was deserved ofc today.

  15. MEN'S DIVISION I GROUP A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round-Robin DAY 7 Poland 0 - 11 Austria Period-by-Period: 0-3, 0-4, 0-4 April 28th 2017, h. 17:00, Palace of Sports, Kyiv Austria returns to Worlds Comeback in Denmark after two-year break After two years in the Division I Austria will be promoted to the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship after a 11-0 blanking of Poland in the final game. Austria knew it would be promoted with a regulation-time win while Poland entered the day with small hopes for promotion and these were more or less destroyed with Kazakhstan’s win against Hungary. And if not the by that, then by a strong start of the Austrians, who went up 3-0 after just ten minutes of play. Martin Ulmer opened the scoring after just 104 seconds. Then Brian Lebler converted a centring pass from Konstantin Komarek at 7:01. At 10:02 Fabio Hofer made it 3-0 with his second goal of the tournament. Thomas Raffl shot from the right side and although Hofer fell down between three opponents, he managed to shovel the puck over the line. The Poles entered the second period with Rafal Radziszewski in the net replacing number-one goalie Przemyslaw Odrobny but still without success in the offensive zone despite becoming more initiative. Midway the second period the Austrians extended the lead. Raffl shot at 8:36 and was lucky that the puck was deflected by a Polish stick to find its way into the net. Just half a minute later Lukas Haudum shot for the 5-0 goal, also that one went behind Radziszewski deflected. And at 15:39 Konstantin Komarek deflected the puck into the net after a pass to the crease from Fabio Hofer to extend the lead to 6-0. Poland’s biggest chance came with 36 seconds left in the period when Damian Kapica was hooked by Heinrich during a breakaway and got a penalty shot but he lost the puck in front of Bernhard Starkbaum. Instead Komarek scored his second goal of the day nine seconds before the intermission on a rebound. Steven Strong added another marker in the third period with a shot from the left face-off dot through Radziszewski’s five-hole. Haudum deflecting a long pass toward the goal from Heinrich and Lebler made it 10-0 midway through the period, and later another one to make it 11 goals for his team.

  17. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016/2017 FINLAND TAPPARA TAMPERE 17th League Title ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tappara’s historic title Tampere team grabs all-time top spot The Tappara Tampere players celebrate with the trophy after defending the Finnish championship. They did it again. For the second time in a row, Tappara Tampere got to celebrate winning the Finnish championship when they beat KalPa Kuopio 3-1 in Game 6 of the final. The championship-winning goal was scored by Juhani Jasu in the third period, after a strong individual effort in which he intercepted a KalPa pass in the neutral zone and then, after a battle with a KalPa player, beating goaltender Eero Kilpelainen with a backhander, breaking a 1-1 tie. It was the club’s 17th Finnish title, most in history, and tenth since 1975 when the current league format was established, tied with TPS Turku. “I guess the dream is to score the big goal in Game 7 but I think it’s better this way,” he told Finnish Nelonen. “One might think it’s been an easy season since we’ve been at the top of the standings for most of the season, but the reality is different. They say it’s easier to get to the top than to stay there and we’ve had to work so hard, all of us, from players to coaches to the trainers. We managed to deal with adversity which tells you everything about the quality of the people on and around the team,” he added. “We’re disappointed but it was a great season, all in all, especially the playoffs. It was an unbelievable experience to see how the fans and the city supported us,” KalPa captain Jussi Timonen told Savon Sanomat. Tappara has made it to the final in five consecutive years now, having lost the first three finals, before winning in 2016 and defending the title this season. And while Tappara has been the one constant in the Finnish hockey season finale in recent years, the opponent has been different in four of the five finals. Karpat and Tappara played in two straight finals in 2014 and 2015, with the Oulu team winning both. This year’s opponent, KalPa, was the definition of the underdog. In a pre-season Jaakiekkolehti poll of eleven hockey journalists around the country, ten of eleven predicted KalPa to finish in the bottom 5 of the standings. The one dissenting opinion place KalPa seventh in 15-team league. They finished third in the regular season, six wins behind Tappara, the regular season winner. Tappara had to go the distance in their quarter-final series against Ilves Tampere, before beating IFK Helsinki in five games in the semi-final. KalPa, on the other hand, beat the Pelicans Lahti in five games in their quarter-final but then had a rough seven-game series with JYP Jyvaskyla in the semi-final. KalPa won the first two games of the final series, but once Tappara got going, their methodical style, supported by Dominik Hrachovina’s excellent goaltending, suffocated KalPa. Rallying back from 0-2, and grabbing four straight wins is a testament to Tappara’s strength. All in all, Tappara had 18 last year’s champions on their roster. “It was the experience of the older players on the team that turned the series. They never lost faith,” said Hrachovina. “I’m very proud of the team, the players have been committed and ambitious from the beginning, and we’ve had the leaders that have carried us at certain points of the season. You can’t win a championship if you’re not ready to shed some blood, sweat and tears,” said Tappara coach Jussi Tapola, 42, who is stepping down after two seasons as an assistant coach and three as the head coach. “What has been missing from this team is something you sometimes see in other leagues and that’s doing things for money. This team and the whole organization is committed to being a sports team, and now we’ve even got some success which makes it even better,” he said to Yle. Last year, when Tappara won their 16th (and ninth since 1975) championship, they had six players on the roster who had been on the losing side three years in a row and this year, four remained as the backbone of the team: Henrik Haapala, Jan-Mikael Jarvinen, Jukka Peltola, and Pekka Saravo. Haapala won the regular season scoring title with 60 points in 51 games, followed by teammate Veli-Matti Savinainen, who scored 56 points in 55 games. Jarvinen, Saravo, and Savinainen served as alternates to captain Jukka Peltola, the winner of the Jari Kurri Trophy as the playoffs MVP. Peltola scored four points in the last four games. And on Saturday, the team will meet their fans on the main square. Same procedure as last year.
  18. Don´t know what happened to Poland, probably stamina after yesterdays tough game against Hungary or just too much nervosity before one of the most important games in the players lifes, but what they show today is definitely worth to better throw the towel ... in other hand Austria has such unbelievable portion of luck today, they will score even with closed eyes
  19. Yes, I always wanted to go there and visit (spend some time) the pubs, markets...the only missing thing is there no sea, but well we can´t have everything
  20. Okay, I follow Ice Hockey for many many years, I watched many many matches from really different levels and many many games from all over the world...but I never NEVER saw Austria played so freaking well as they played this 1st period. This was just WOW !!!
