  1. In the end borders are just artificial really. Men can draw maps on a line, separate us, tell us who to hate, and how to live, but in the end we all breathe the same air, have the same basic needs, and we all find ourselves in a 6 by 6 plot in ground just the same as everyone else.
  2. I’m not watching. I read. Sometimes it’s just better to listen to everyone, and look for the facts on your own.
  3. Honestly not opposed to that at this point.
  4. Yeah I’m not all that trusting towards the Trump administration offering asylum. So I guess we should have sent the Jews back. Or maybe we should have ask them to kindly form a line and what for their formal application to be processed, and wait in the country they’re fleeing while we take our time with their application.
  5. If Israel isn’t bullies why have they given back the Golan Heights or discouraged settlement on internationally recognized Palestinian territory? Why do they shot Palestinians who protest in the streets, but not those responsible for the terrorists attacks on Isreal?
  6. Conditions in Central America are just as life threatening as the places I mentioned. We should be better than Australia and the UK. We are a country of immigrants. For over century anyone was welcome into our beautiful land. We should aim to share what we have, not and keep it to ourselves.
  7. People that Israel also wish to destroy. We needed a better plan after World War 2. I absolutely agree that giving the Jewish faith parts of the Holy Land was the right thing to do, but allowing them to be bullies was not. I not some simpleton. I know what’s happening in Israel. I watch political speeches by Israelis and the Palestinians. Both are to blame for problems, but if Israel was a nation of peace, they would have ended this conflict by now.
  8. Now I have a question that may hit closer to home, and that very well may be in poor taste, but that I’ve decided is poignant enough to ask, and so I ask for an honest answer. Should Jewish people that illegally crossed borders fleeing Germany in the 1930s been “sent back”? Should Tutsi fleeing Rwanda in the 1990s been “sent back” by neighboring countries. Should countries be placing quotas on the amount of people they’ll allow to flee war and violence? Yes, the children’s parents are at fault. However, if a child’s father robs a Walmart, do we also place the child in prison? The government is at fault because we created the problem. We support violence in Central America, and the place quotas on who we’d save. Give us your poor, your sick, and tired; so we can send them right the fuck back to die. I sure love our patriotism! Obama did start child separation. You are right, and I acknowledge that. It was shameful policy, and quite possibly one of the worst mistakes of his presidency.
  9. CNN can go fuck themsleves, as I do agree with conservatives, that they are not pushing news for the sake of the public good.
  10. And why they vote for someone like Trump who is clearly xenophobic towards Muslims? The Jewish people are a people of peace, the president has not created peace. He’s only further the device between them and Palestinians.
  11. If Jewish friendly means recognizing them for the genocide of Palestinians then sure. I think democrats will fair fine in the Jewish vote.
  12. I’m clearly fine with going far to the left, but I think setting themselves up as the opposite of Trump is the best play they have. I actually think that Buttigieg would win over centrists and conservatives better, but then they lose the black vote. I’ll be voting for Warren, Sanders, or Bloomberg in the California primary.
  13. The Democratic Party has evolved to a more inclusive, world focused agenda, and if that upsets people, than they weren’t ever truly ever progressive to begin with. Explain to me how Trump hasn’t done anything except represent the “Urban/Coastal” elite? My generation is hunger to vote, so the older generations better be ready.
  14. I want you to explain to how you would convey this to child below the age of five, and then not only justify sending them back to “their country”, but also separating them from their parents, since you yourself are an immigrant.
  15. If the popular vote doesn’t matter, than are we a democracy? In a democracy everyone’s vote count equallly. Is that true today? Clinton lost because she was a weak candidate. People got punished for a bad choice they made. Oh fuck . I got her and Feinstein mixed up. They’re both old and white as hell. It’s so hard to tell white people apart. Thanks for saying where I live after I’ve been vague about it for 2 years for personal reasons . We have a large homeless population up here to. Mayor Parris (R) has done little to solve the problem. I’ve have numerous community college friends that could give you personal stories about being homeless, and how it’s not the undocumented immigrants fault. Unemployment is low yes, but are people being paid the wages they deserve? If the whole population is employed, but only paid 1 dollar an hour, is that economy functioning well? The thing about economics is that it overlooks people. California’s GDP is great, yet we have a massive homeless problem. People can talk about the economy all they want, but in reality it overlooks all major issues. If our economy is good, why cannot people afford or obtain healthcare? Also, we should be working towards peace. When you ask a child what makes them happy, none of them will ever answer with war. Maybe if we invested a bit more in social programs, the state department, and the UN, we wouldn’t need a large military at all. If putting America “first” means turning our back on those in need, then we’re not truly “first”. Countries that provide the most common good for humanity are the countries that are “first”. I’m curious as to what good our military brought Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, and Central America? In fact I’d say their responsible for creating the immigration problem in the first place. ISIS isn’t destroyed. They may have no territory, but still definitely exist. Our military under both Obama and Trump did a great job or working with our allies to free Syria and Iraq from the cold grip of ISIS, but now Trump has made our allies our enemies, which has created conditions for ISIS prisoners to escape. He’s not done most of the things he promised, mostly because they were vague ideas created in order to race bait and galvanize the right. I’ll let my votes do the talking in 2020.
  16. Just don’t talk about sports moments from the decade, or start a topic about the 2025 EYOF, or bring up Caster Semenya, or discuss the allocation of YOG quotas
  17. Jewish isn’t a race. An ethnicity yes. There are many other reasons for me to think of him as a racist. Well the democrats get more Jewish and Muslim votes than the Republicans do so...
  18. Some children were brought over at a few months old, or a few years old. Some can’t speak fluent languages needed to survive in foreign countries, and many of no connections to their “homeland”. Obama only had to create DACA the way did become Republicans refused to vote on anything while he was in office. When Republicans start suggesting alternatives other than racially motivated deportation, I will be all ears, and gladly listening.
  19. Some even “boinked” said slaves, and didn’t even give those kids freedom.
  20. I find it enjoyable, and quite literally have nothing better to do until “Watchmen” comes on in an hour, so I have to do something to kill the time. While I agree that I won’t change any minds tonight, it’s always worth a shot. I don’t dislike @Maxim Fastovsky as a person, so there’s nothing wrong with a spirited argument, especially when there are so few republicans around in California.
  21. The founding fathers also thought that slavery was fine, women and black people didn’t need to vote, and the natives were “savages” that need “education”. Some undocumented immigrants have never known any country but this country. What about them?
  22. No, not from San Fran. I’m SoCal born and raised. I’d say the wealthy corporations are responsible for what happened in San Francisco. I’ve been to Hollyweed, it seemed quite fine while I was there. We’re full of the homeless because the national government refuses to give us any support. Plus, when citizens suggest ideas about how to solve the problem conservatives always complain that those plans cost money. Also, I’ve volunteered at my local homeless shelter (unlike you I’d imagine), and let me tell you, those people deserve nothing but love and support. Our lack of action turns them to hard drugs. The anti-vax movement in the state is the reason we see these diseases break out. I’ve also never seen “shit flowing down the streets”. The only thing “flowing down” our streets is dust, tumbleweeds, and on rare occasion, water. I hope you have some people in mind to work the labor intensive jobs that you claim immigrants are “stealing”. Republicans will clean the streets? Yes, they’re own in neighborhoods where no black or brown people live, and where there’s not a homeless person in sight. They sure as hell ain’t providing homeless housing because that would cost the state money, and it might have to come out of their pockets ?. I’m ashamed to have the house minority leader as my rep. Hopefully we cancel his ass in 2020. Yes, these elections won’t be close because Trump will lose the popular vote by millions. The American people see what a con-artist, lair, and cheat our “president” is. This process is partisan, and that’s why Trump will still be in office at the end of it. There’s no need to overturn an election we won, but only technically lost. Trump may win, but we will give it our all in 2020. Russia did meddle in our elections, just like in Britain’s past elections too. The “swamp” won’t be drained until we stop election complete idiots like Trump, McCarthy, Nunez, Graham, Cruz, and McConnell to government positions. Your “red wave” was really impressive in 2018 and 2019 elections. Trump may win the presidency, as unfucking believable that is, but the Democratic Party will more likely than not remain in control of the house. Trump has been the worst president in history (though Jackson, Taylor, and Nixon could give him a run for his money). We are putting America behind. It’s a change from not terrible, to baby that shits itself daily because the mean French and Canadian guys were laughing at it. Obama wasn’t the President, but he was 100 times better than Trump could ever dream to be.
  23. So let’s see here. “illegals vote” First, I’d never refer to a person as illegal, undocumented sure, but all people have a right to life. Also, I’d be incredibly dumb to vote as an undocumented immigrant (one way trip out of the country right there). In fact, Trump’s own investigation found that more citizens tried to vote illegally, more than any undocumented immigrants. “dead people vote” Dead people cannot vote as they are no longer alive (I get what you mean, but a little light hearted joke never killed anyone). Another common misconception about US elections. I could pull up numerous studies that show while that happens more than it should, it’s never enough to influence the outcome of an election. Plus, I like to put a little faith into democracy because it’s pretty much the only thing keeping us for tearing each other apart at this point. The Democratic Party has won the popular vote twice, and the lost the presidency. So let’s not talk about who’s stealing what. Thankfully we live in California where anyone legally allowed to vote can, and thankfully our county is making it easier to vote than event during the next election. (I could be wrong about some of the minor details here) We now have 10 days in which we can vote at one of 15 polling centers in the country, and you can even use an app to choose your candidates, and just have them instantly loaded onto the voting machine once you get to your polling center. We’ll take pretty much any form of ID. Everyone’s vote should have equal weight. My vote will not matter as much as someone’s from Green Bay or Des Moines. That’s completely against the democratic values the country was founded on.
  24. Might not be far from the truth honestly. In California every thing, except for US President, is decided by popular vote. We have a six party democracy within the state, though normally only republicans and democrats win elections. In fact most of the time, at least in the past decade, we’ve had democrat v. democrat because of our top two first round system.
  25. No, not Star Wars. I wasn’t taking about The Force, Kylo Ren, Yoda, or any Skywalkers.
