  1. Team GB medals after Day 1 Rank Gold Silver Bronze Total --- 0 0 0 0 After a disappointing start no medals for GB on Day 1. The only highlight was Peaty's WR and McIntosh finished 15th which is very good. 21 places better than 4 years ago.
  2. Watch GB not even make the QF.
  3. Amazing day for you and Argentina.
  4. But no gold which they wanted if being a threat to the US in the overall medal table.
  5. Heywoodu, can we please have a moving Kim for this awesome performance?
  6. Actually, there's a bronze medal match at the Olympics. Only the final is a guaranteed medal.
  7. Pop lost to MacKinnon. That's a surprise.
  8. Good result for McIntosh.
  9. Day 1 Finals Archery - Men's Team no British participation Cycling - Men's Road Race Steve Cummings Chris Froome Ian Stannard Geraint Thomas Adam Yates The course is made for climbers apparently so Froome could have a chance if he does something. I wouldn't make predictions for this race though as anything can happen. Fencing - Women's Individual Épée no British participation Judo - Women's -48kg no British participation Judo - Men's -60kg Ashley McKenzie Should beat Özlü in R32 but will then face the current world champion Smetov in R16. Repechage is possible if Smetov makes it far. Shooting - Women's 10m Air Rifle Jennifer McIntosh I don't know, a better finish than in London (36th) would be nice. No chance for a medal. Shooting - Men's 10m Air Pistol no British participation Swimming - Women's 400m Individual Medley Hannah Miley Aimee Willmott Both should make the final and Miley could go for silver if things to well. Husszu will be too strong. Swimming - Women's 4x100m Freestyle Relay no British participation Swimming - Men's 400m Freestyle James Guy Stephen Milne Milne should aim for a new PB and Guy is a medal contender if things go well. However, he will face strong competition such as Park , Sun , Horton , Detti , Cochrane and the Americans . Just hope his swimming trunks sit tight. Swimming - Men's 400m Individual Medley Max Litchfield Should qualify for the final. Weightlifting - Women's -48kg no British participation optimistic shot on medals 3 reasonable shot on medals 1

  11. The best and most active national thread here. If the GB thread was half as active as the Indian thread. Good luck to Indian athletes.
  12. With these draws I wouldn't bet on a medal for GB...
  13. Please reveal them to us so we can add the medalists to our table already then.
  14. Right, skateboarding is mostly big in the US. The only questionable decision, squash would have deserved it more than skateboarding right now. Even snooker.
  15. Oh don't remind me. I'm sour when I think of football. I've always wanted to know if Tahiti/French Polynesia and New Caledonia might end up independent, thus with their own NOCs someday.
  16. Yay, I approve. So which nations will benefit most from these additions? Japan and France, probably.
  17. So apparently when I decided to go away, Brazil scored. After seeing the graphics I'm sticking to London/Sochi graphics. They appealed me more.
  18. Thanks. I liked the diagonal design though.
  19. I'm not watching, so what do the new flag graphics look like now?
  20. Fine, but then I don't want to hear anything against Bolt or Jamaica coming from you.
  21. Graeme Thomas (men's quadruple sculls) is out and replaced by Jack Beaumont.
  22. Almost nobody attending the opening ceremony, no housemates.. I don't like it. Makes the team look stuck up...
  23. Actually I'm not really against this approach. If Olympic glory and winning a medal is less worth to you than prize money you might as well stay home.
  24. Typical and depressing English results, of course. No hopes for this "sport".
