  1. 40 NOCs in the medal table already, which is 9 more than in Rio at this stage. The expected top-three countries are running away early. , and collecting more medals than five years ago at this early stage (USA 3-5-4, China 3-2-3 and USA 1-0-6). Especially impressive the Americans considering there were no medals won yesterday. Australia not yet able to get close to their superb start of 3-0-3 and also Italy having dropped slightly compared to Rio (2-3-2). Sweden with no medal yet when they had one gold and a silver in comparison. Very impressed by Tunisia and there are more chances left along the way. The Dutch team not looking like they will finish 5th in the medal table and 48 medals total. Have already blown some chances for that. Not to mention being unlucky with Covid in rowing. 4th place counter* (3) - (2) - (1) - and the Refugee Olympic Team *5th places in events that award two bronze medals
  2. The expected final between Xu/Liu and Mizutani/Ito tomorrow in the debuting mixed doubles. Has taken the Japanese a bit more effort to reach the final. Xu/Liu should be the favourites regardless.
  3. I see. That wouldn't stop me from supporting someone, although you gave a promise and if you can't fulfill that promise, then maybe you shouldn't marry. It's something they value in Japan.
  4. So what's his story?
  5. What a lift by Konnai. I would have probably dropped the barbell for safety reasons.
  6. Korea undefeated since 1988 in Women's Team.
  7. Szilágyi showed how it's done yesterday.
  8. I don't know, I for one enjoy a lot of streams without commentary but just ambience and the sound of sports quite a lot.
  9. Already 28 countries after Day 1 compared to Rio (20 countries and one event more back then). Having taekwondo early helps. Australia and USA with the worst start compared to Rio ( 2-0-1; 1-4-0) but no swimming finals have been held yet. On the other hand, China has started very well in terms of gold medal placing compared to 5 years ago ( 0-2-3).
  10. South Korea having some trouble in their sport as of late. They might also have a bad Olympics. Other than archery I don't see where a lot of other medals should come from...
  11. Álvarez taking a bit too long but so far ok.
  12. South Korea/Mexico should be good.
  13. Which Japanese don't really say very often anyway because it's more like a farewell.
  14. Of course with that mindset you're underestimating how many generally interested people there are educating themselves and looking up new words once they don't know something, like me.
  15. What do you expect? Of course an official opening has speeches. We were here for the parade of nations anyway.
  16. Throw in Taufatofua as well.
  17. Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger, finally something I recognised.
  18. All of a sudden equalised, so I'm confident we'll find a 4th goal too.
  19. @Sindo How about adding some of those?
  20. If you have to decide on 5, which one has to go? Women's -49kg Women's -55kg Women's -87kg Women's +87kg Men's Team Women's Team
