  1. Coming back to Germany - if we repeat 2023 WCH results in all the events (unlike repeat of 99% of them like I do in this thread heh) we would have 2 golds - Eventing Team and W Team in archery. Next days should be much better. I don't think it looks that similar for any other NOC if we exclude athletics powerhouses like ETH KEN or JAM.
  2. On day 6 POL is happy because Iga Świątek wins her semifinal in W Singles against Ons Jabeur TUN :-) So we have a medal number 5, gold or silver. It was a very hard battle though 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. In second semi Coco Gauff beats Jelena Ostapenko.

  4. Still awful games for Germany so far. Have i missed sth here??? Maybe a gold in canoe slalom? Or shooting? Looks like scheduling is really bad for Germany this time. They will have much more medal chances in the 2nd half of the games.

  7. From non-olympic sports i think speedway is the most popular sport in Poland (or at least in some parts of the country) but I don't watch it and I don't think it suits to the olympics so I wouldn't add it.
  8. Hmm... interesting question. Honestly, I wouldn't add any new sport. There are already too many strange new sports and events so I wouldn't like to add more. Tbh, I don't follow ANY of the sports which are mentioned in the first post in this thread. So if they are added to the programme, I wouldn't watch them much so from my personal point of view they are not important. Globally I believe baseball/softball deserves to be in the olympics, it was there few times, I didn't watch it but I think this sport suits to the olympics. Joking a bit - while watching Asian Games I really enjoyed dragon boats races, so this could be it for me. But I don't know if anybody practices this sport outside Asia. Ok, maybe squash could be nice... I don't know. More important for me would be adding quota for some classic sports (road cycling, canoe sprint and slalom, fencing for sure, but I think also rowing, swimming, artistic gymnastics, athletics...). Rugby XVs would be great but I honestly don't know if it is possible. And I would like to see some events coming back - M K4 1000m in canoe sprint, M C2 in canoe slalom, W 500m and M 1km TT in track cycling. I don't exactly know which sports and events I would get rid of, but i can say which sports i rather don't watch or hardly watch when nothing else is going on or I watch only when POL athletes are performing: trampoline gymnastics, modern pentathlon, artistic swimming, taekwondo, equestrian dressage, field hockey, water polo, open water swimming, wrestling, may be sth else i forgot now, but i can't say i want to get rid of them because I know these sports have their fans. From new sports I'm sceptic about breaking, but we will see how it goes in Paris. In Europan Games it was boring for me.
  9. I wonder if there are more medals for Cubans representing other NOCs or for Team Cuba in Paris... Very sad thought actually. Hopefully Wilfredo Leon will get one in M volleyball with Poland anyway. And remember Andy Diaz in M triple jump for Italy. Are there many Cuban boxers fighting for other NOCs? Is Cuba still strong in boxing?
  10. @MagyarBabu a gold for Poland in M Quadruple Sculls would be nice but i don't know how much possible it is... Tokyo olympics 1. NED 2. GBR 3. AUS 4. POL ECH 2022 1. ITA 2. POL 3. ROU WCH 2022 1. POL 2. GBR 3. ITA ECH 2023 1. POL 2. NED 3. ITA WCH 2023 1. NED 2. ITA 3. POL We will see... Hope you are right and I have underestimated them predicting only bronze here
  11. @Noorderling29 why do you think Paris route is less ideal for Kopecky than the one in Glasgow?
  12. When we combine Josh, MagyarBabu and my Day 1 results together it may look like that (still hoping sb joins us here): 1st place - 3 pts, 2nd place - 2 pts, 3rd place - 1 pt. Day 1 Sat 27.07 1. 13. The same with M volleyball - nothing certain, even after such an awesome 2023 season for us. We can lose 6th QF in a row, obviously can happen, who knows. W speed climbing - Ola Mirosław can beat WR after WR, but she can fail like in 2023 WCH SF. M hammer throw - Nowicki will fight hard for a revenge after 2023 WCH loss, but Katzberg may be really strong again. So we don't have anyone like Summer McIntosh, almost certain gold, in our team.
  14. Sure, nothing certain about Świątek. But I do hope you are wrong here. This is W tennis anyway, so anything can happen. Still I believe she can win this thing: - it's on clay, she won RG 3 times before, we'll see how she plays in 2024 RG before the olympics, - she will be focused on the olympics, she said many times before that this is an important tournament for her, her father was an olympian in Seoul in rowing (quadruple sculls) but they finished out of Final A (7th) and he was very dissapointed; when she lost to Badosa in Tokyo she was really disappointed, even crying on the court when the match ended. But ofc: - i believe this will be a tournament with majority of top players participating, i don't think many will skip it like it happened before, it's Paris, Roland Garros, maybe some players who are not good on clay will say no; - even when she plays well at RG in June, it doesn't mean much - Radwańska was in Wimbledon final in 2012 and then she lost the 1st rd game against Julia Goerges; I love Aga, a big fan of her, probably I'm a bigger fan of Aga than Iga, but Aga seemed not to care about olympics too much, I still remember what she said in the interview after the match, she looked like she doesn't care; - and sad thing is Iga refuses to play for Poland in the Fed Cup this season, which - if i remember correctly - is somehow mandatory when you want to play at the olympics (these rules are pretty complicated) but i hope she will be eligible to play in the end. She can be invited as the former Grand Slam champion, but i think it won't be necessary and Wozniacki will take this place. Anyway, this is W tennis, this one can be won by a very random player. Still, we don't have many bigger chances for gold in Paris than her (M volleyball, W speed sports climbing, M hammer throw (although it can be gold for CAN as you know)... so i hope you are wrong.
  15. @Jinzha good for you!!! and what are the biggest Dutch medal chances on days 1-5???
  16. @MHSN I have just found results data for shooting https://www.asia-shooting.org/document/19th-asian-games/ maybe other sports have sth similar
