  3. In case anyone's interested, here are the all-time top lists of our two athletics and swimming events. https://www.worldathletics.org/records/all-time-toplists/middle-long/1500-metres/outdoor/men/senior?regionType=world&page=1&bestResultsOnly=true&firstDay=1900-01-01&lastDay=2022-03-16 https://www.fina.org/swimming/rankings?gender=F&distance=50&stroke=FREESTYLE&poolConfiguration=LCM&year=all&startDate=&endDate=&timesMode=BEST_TIMES&regionId=all&countryId=
  4. Spoilers: next poll will be: Hockey - Women’s Tournament Archery - Men’s Individual Shooting - Men’s Rapid Fire Pistol @Sindo is there a chance to change the settings here so I could make 5 questions in one poll, to speed up things even more? 😉
  5. I have some problems with team sports (which start from the next poll) as well. But I think the best solution, for the purpose of these polls, will be that we won't compare two or more gold medal olympic teams from one NOC with each other. Instead, we can think which NOC who has previously won at least one gold should win in our imaginary games. And that means we could think of e.g. Argentina men's football team for our imaginary games as a team of all the best players from both Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 teams. This could be interesting.
  6. Yes, I have the same problem with these polls here. But these "mark" sports - athletics and swimming above all - are the "golden circle" of the games for me so they can't be missed. We know who is WR holder in men's 1500m but maybe Nurmi could run faster when he had access to all the XXI century training methods and equipment...
  7. Poll #7 has ended. The results are: Event #11 - Tennis - Women's Singles 1. Serena Williams USA 2. Steffi Graf GER 3. Justine Henin-Hardenne BEL Here was a tie for 3th place, according to the rulebook I had to pick someone and I haved picked Henin-Hardenne over Capriati and Puig. Event #12 - Badminton - Women's Singles 1. Carolina Marin ESP 2. Zhang Ning CHN 3. Susi Susanti INA Event #13 - Table Tennis - Men's Singles 1. Ma Long CHN 2. Jan-Ove Waldner SWE 3. Ma Lin CHN Thanks for voting. You can vote in Poll #8 now. Our medal table and results summary will be updated soon.
  8. Hey, people who took part in Beijing 2022 polls, maybe you want to take part in another series of polls as well? I know some of you already have done it :-) @Wumo @mrv86 @phelps @Topicmaster1010 @rafalgorka @orangeman @Gianlu33 @Styrka @Henry_Leon @NearPup @hckošice @Einarsen @Belle @Monzanator @ChandlerMne @james89 @Agger @maestro @Dunadan @mester @Fly_like_a_don @vinipereira @Ted @FireRun @Federer91 @LowerSaxony @IoNuTzZ @Adriano @Joshi @Jinzha @JoshMartini007 @Sindo @Kirkpatrick @Griff88 @Ros @rybak @Andry84 @Dennis @LEVARTOZ @Vic Liu @EupenM @uk12points @Illya @FancyFenchel @Trebron92 @Jan Linha @dcro @Benolympique @heywoodu @pdr4332 @Arnoud Beldman @intoronto @Morten Jensen @Olympian1010 @Swewi @jfpseijo @Speedy @stamura84 @gualty80 @De_Gambassi @Walter Egow @Orangehair43 @Vektor @OlympicsFan @Peterpeer

  10. And to spice things up, I promise that in the next poll I will introduce the first TEAM SPORT!!! I have some ideas how to organize the polls in team sports in this series, I wonder if you like it. Stay safe!
  11. Time to get SERIOUS about these pols Time to include ATHLETICS and SWIMMING in them. Of course, one may say that we can just check everyone's PBs and we know who should be 1st, 2nd and 3rd. But... Let's start with 1500m. Maybe in our imaginary olympics the pace will not be so strong at first two laps and the guys with the best finish will have more chances. Or some of our favourites stumble (I don't wish this to anyone, obviously). Or... and that's the most interesting question in these polls so far, from my perspective, how fast the old champions would be if they had the access to the XXI century training methods??? The same with 50m freestyle. We know who has the best PB. But... this is 50m, things happen in a moment, maybe the fastest ones will get nervous, maybe their final strokes will not be that good? ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN OUR IMAGINARY OLYMPICS. Let's vote!
  12. You can still vote in the Poll #7: https://totallympics.com/topic/12932-imaginary-summer-olympics-poll-7-tennis-womens-singles-badminton-womens-singles-table-tennis-mens-singles/ But here comes Poll #8 already. These are olympic champions in certain events. Imagine that all these champions are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time. Who would have won gold? Be aware that the voting ends at Wednesday March 16th, 8 p.m. CET. These pollls are like event start lists, who would win, what you think? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Olympic_medalists_in_athletics_(men)#1500_metres https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Olympic_medalists_in_swimming_(women)#50_metres_freestyle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Olympic_medalists_in_triathlon#Individual Below you can find our results summary and medal table. Let's vote then!
  13. In next poll there will be first athletics and swimming events. I know we can just check everyone's PBs and the results should be obvious. But this whole thing is just for fun, so why not try it? :-)
  14. Poll #6 has ended. The results are: Event #8 - Cycling Road - Men's Individual Time Trial 1. Fabian Cancellara SUI 2. Miguel Indurain ESP 3. Bradley Wiggins GBR Here was a tie for 2nd place, I haved picked Indurain. Event #9 - Cycling Track - Men's Keirin 1. Chris Hoy GBR 2. Jason Kenny GBR 3. Ryan Bayley AUS Event #10 - Cycling Mountain Bike - Men's Cross-Country 1. Nino Schurter SUI 2. Julien Absalon FRA 3. Tom Pidcock GBR Thanks for voting. You can vote in Poll #7 now. Our medal table and results summary will be updated soon.
  15. You can still vote in the Poll #6: https://totallympics.com/topic/12908-imaginary-summer-olympics-poll-6-cycling-road-mens-individual-time-trial-cycling-track-mens-keirin-cycling-mountain-bike-mens-cross-country/ But here comes Poll #7 already. These are olympic champions in certain events. Imagine that all these champions are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time. Who would have won gold? Below you can find our results summary and medal table. Let's vote then!
  16. Updated after Event #7 (Poll #5). ALLEZ LES BLEUS !!!
  17. Poll #5 has ended. The results are: Event #5 - Gymnastics Artistics - Women's Uneven Bars 1. Nadia Comaneci ROU 2. Aliya Mustafina RUS 3. He Kexin CHN There was a tie (7-7, Mustafina vs Comaneci) for the first place so according to my rules I had to choose the winner myself. But one more question to @dcro here. You told us your opinion on Mustafina before. But what you think about Comaneci? Uneven bars - was it her strong apparatus or not? Event #6 - Canoe Slalom - Men's C1 1. Tony Estanguet FRA 2. Michal Martikan SVK 3. Benjamin Savsek SLO Here was another tie (1-1, Savsek vs Chanut) for the third place so I chose the bronze medalist. This choice let me postpone the decision whether we should use the nowadays qualification criteria in our polls or not. (2 medals for France in this event would not be possible in Tokyo). Event #7 - Wrestling Greco-Roman - Men's Super Heavyweight 1. Mijain Lopez CUB 2. Aleksandr Karelin RUS 3. Rulon Gardner USA 3. Aleksandr Kolchinsky UKR Here I needed to choose the second bronze medalist (2 bronze medals should be awarded in this event, like in boxing or judo). @MHSN I wonder what you think about these results??? Our medal table and our results summary will be updated soon. You will find them in the links below. @Sindo is there a chance to put all the threads connected with this series of polls in one place here (easy to find)? I put everything in my so-called "signature" here but it takes too much space already and there may be more than 100 polls in this series. Anyway, thanks for the votes in Poll #5. You can now vote in Poll #6 (link below). Greetings for everyone. Stay safe and healthy, please.
