  1. Panama doubles the lead. 2-0 now. Italy's chances of advancing slowly dwindling
  2. Dominic Fletcher with a great catch and saves a run for Italy! As a Taiwanese supporter, I am hoping Italy wins this game
  3. One of the great things about international sports tournaments is that it brings people of various countries and cultures together. Here's a few home run calls from yesterday in other languages. Kungkuan Giljegiljaw Yang Euiji Kensuke Kondoh Martin Musik https://old.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/11np67t/czech_commentators_call_of_martin_muziks_goahead/
  4. They're lucky they got an automatic qualification spot for this edition due to the expansion to 20 teams. I honestly would rather see a team like Brazil or Germany than China at the next edition
  5. Scary moment in the Panama and Italy game. 3rd base umpire gets jor in the back of the head by a ball but seems to be okay
  6. Jose Ramos puts Panama up 1-0
  7. Panama vs. Italy coming up in a few minutes. Must win game for both teams
  8. Been watching the last few innings with my Taiwanese parents. We all went nuts after that last home run!
  9. 8-7 Taiwan leads. I'm going to age 10 years watching this game
  10. Yu Chang!!! We're all tied up at 7
  11. My goodness, these Taiwanese pitchers are not good
  12. Ohtani delivers for Japan! They lead 8-4 now
  13. Taiwan looks like a completely different team than against Panama. They lead 4-2. Meanwhile, Japan has taken over their game. They have a 6-3 lead
  14. Yes, they are, but only when Taiwan is hitting I believe.
  15. Meanwhile Japan answers Korea's 3 run inning with a 4 run inning of their own
  16. Let's go!!! Home run for Taiwan. 1-0 lead over Italy!
  17. 3-0 lead for Korea now! Brutal error by Murakami
  18. Yang does it again!!! 2-0 Korea
  19. Wow Musik!!! Absolutely incredible moment. Cuban offense looks like they finally woke up winning 13-4. And now Japan vs. Korea about to begin
  20. Czech Republic still leading China in the 7th 4-1 Cuba with another implosion and trail Panama 4-2 in the 3rd. I would love to keep watching but I got to my priorities right and get some sleep before the Korea vs. Japan showdown tonight so see you all then
  21. Cuba with an early 2-0 lead, Czech Republic still hanging on to a 3-1 lead
  22. Great start for the Czech Republic. They lead 2-0 after the 1st inning
  23. Pool C & D Exhibition Results: March 9th Pool C: Colombia 5-4 Chicago White Sox Great Britain 1-8 Kansas City Royals Canada 3-5 Seattle Mariners Mexico 11-1 Colorado Rockies United States 6-0 Los Angeles Angels Pool D: Dominican Republic 1-2 Minnesota Twins Nicaragua 4-6 St. Louis Cardinals Puerto Rico 0-9 Atlanta Braves Venezuela 6-4 New York Mets Israel 9-0 Washington Nationals
  24. The Czech team will make their long awaited WBC debut in just over 5 hours. They are the very definition of an underdog true. For those who don't know, the team is made up entirely of homegrown players (except for 2) and most of these guys only play baseball part time. They work their day jobs on weekdays and then play baseball on the weekends. And despite this they still beat a strong Spanish team composed of Dominican and Venezuelan rejects to qualify for this tournament. That game against China tonight will be huge for them as it could determine the last place finisher which is the team that will have to go through qualification again for the next tournament. Before yesterday, I would have said the Czechs were better but after China's performance against Japan, I'm not so sure now. Elsewhere, the biggest rivalry in baseball rewrites another chapter as Japan and Korea face off again. This will be their first WBC matchup since the 2009 championship game and Korea likely needs to win this in order to keep their tournament hopes alive. Meanwhile, in Pool A, Panama and Taiwan need to win today if they want to keep their tournament alive. Italy looks to go to 2-0 and put themselves in a great position.
